    Socioeconomics is not science.
Show the strong scientific evidence that vitamin D deficiency is the cause

A horrible thought occurred to me. What if the states are using minority populations to test whether the Coronavirus vaccines are truly safe??? Considering the vaccines have been rushed, does the health industry need more guinea pigs? Racial-minority guinea pigs??

    Further research

    https://www.bmj.com/content/369/bmj.m1548/

We know Covid attacks the ACE receptors and we also know that some African Americans do have a different reaction to some cardiac medications (There has been a long debate over whether medication prescription should include factoring in race since research on a beta blocker found that there was a better response to the drug among African American males in the study group)

    This is an interesting study

The Pharma industry has been using India as test subjects for YEARS - it is one of the reasons why India is the Pharma powerhouse for Asia

No but in this case it is simply that they are trying to protect the most vulnerable population

Reaching diverse populations does not necessarily mean prioritising one ethnic group over another. It could mean making sure the vaccine is available to all ethnicities according to their percentage of the population.

Having said that, there may be logical reasons for prioritising one ethnic group over others. If, for example, statistics show they are at higher risk of infection or death.

If there is a logical reason for it I have no problem with it. If there is no logical reason I would have a problem with it.

There is some very convincing research - mostly from the UK as the first ten medical officers who died from Corona where from an ethnic minority background

The vaccine is bring used first on the most vulnerable first, being older people. Perhaps you think it should be delayed until a million people have died first just in case a handful have serious reaction to the vaccine?

When I took an introductory course in human biology, in college, in the 2000s, they didn't teach multiple body types for different races. There was only one universal model type of the human body as we were exploring different tissues and stuff. So, there shouldn't be any difference between the races as we all have the same tissues and stuff.

But, in the years after that, I have seen that races and women do tend to suffer illnesses differently than the majority of white men. So, there definitely needs to be more medical studies of minorities and women in drug studies and such.

    Nope.

IS THERE ANYTHING LEFT THAT TIMES DOESN’T VIEW THROUGH A RACIAL PRISM? NY Times Says Order Of Who Gets Vaccine Should Be Based On Race.

Notice that they don't put race in quotes.

Why even tabulate those statistics if there isn't an effort to "DIVIDE BY RACE FOR REASON OF CONTROL!!!!"

It is kind of a complicated thing. On the one hand, I've seen claims that race is entirely a social construct, that there is no genetic difference between the races, I've even heard claims that race was an idea created by whites to make blacks seem inferior. On the other hand, I've seen studies showing, for example, higher IQs among whites, and I think I even read a study once comparing brain sizes between races. Then there are things like how some races seem more susceptible to certain things (like the idea that minorities are more adversely effected by COVID) and you kind of have to sit back and scratch your head and wonder, so are the races really different or not??

Oh, it's real. Europe was hit by the plague, brought in by invading Khan armies, so hard in the middle ages that it depopulated for 3 centuries. The population that emerged from that terrible testing was hardier and more disease resilient than the population that entered it. We that descend from those that survived that experience continue to express some of this disease resistance.

When we came to the Americas the natives were devastated by diseases that we had much greater resistance to and so with the population that survived that testing.

Here are the COVID rates by race in CA through yesterday:

All Cases and Deaths associated with COVID-19 by Race and Ethnicity

    Race %Deaths %Population
    Latino 48% 39%
    White 31% 37%
    Asian 12% 15%
    Black 7% 6%
    Native 0.3% 0.5%
    Islander 0.5% 0.3%

Latino is essentially European and Native so it's not clear to me that their increased death rate is caused by genetics rather than behavior. It's very common in CA Latino populations to make several trips a year between their residences and families in CA and their families in Mexico and Central America.

Were it me, the vaccines would go first to elderly in group homes and the staff that cares for them, and I damn sure wouldn't be refusing the vaccine to anyone based on race.

The way that "progressives" always want to be in control of critical resources and then dole them amount by racial and gender groups makes most of America want to vomit. The less that these authoritarian bastards control the better.

Make the vaccines widely available, starting with elderly and healthcare and the folks that want them will get them. But, that there are clowns who would refuse to vaccinate someone based on their skin color simply shows that these crazy bastards should be in charge of no part of public safety.

I know at least one poster on this forum who has already declared that an optimal outcome.

    It'
It's quite a large percentage I imagine. What's even more confusing are the amount of Whites who have fallen for it.

If liberals tell them to self-mutilate to pay for their racism they would do it happily.

Did they comment on the difference in efficacy between whites and minorities too?

Same mindset I'm in. It needs more testing, let those willing to take something with limited testing do it first..... I'll say a prayer for them ;)

A racist diatribe does not replace the science.

Don't know why you're worried. Look at the old white Republicans who called the Trump virus a hoax right at the front of the line for vaccines. I'm sure you'll get what's coming to you.

Apparently many in here didn’t read the actual article. Color me surprised.

Minorities don't get “priority”, the get equal protection to get the vaccine.

I am fine with it. Outside of nursing homes, blacks have been hit pretty hard locally. Perhaps it was the refusal to not have holiday weekend gatherings, many of them refusing to wear masks, etc. IDK.

Get a grip on the sheet, son.

It's a PR campaign....nowhere is there proof that black and hispanic folks are getting vaccines ahead of white folks. If you have proof otherwise, produce it instead of insinuating such.
