Then you should understand that there isn't alot construction activities in the winter time, since demand for steel is low hence the price reflected that demand. Your single graph without context is pretty sad.

 

That seems like more of a similarity than a difference to me. Another similarity would be that the presidents and their supporters in both cases care more about the ends (getting their programs implemented) than the means (how they get funded).

Of course, there are massive differences between the two, such as the cost of the two programs and the profoundly disturbing aspects surrounding ObamaCare and its enactment - the unconstitutional nature of the tax itself, the illegality of the "judicial tax writing"/re-writing of the statute by Chief Justice Roberts, and the fundamental alteration of the relationship between the individual and government that the late Justice Kennedy spoke about. You don't encounter any of that with the Wall.

Aside from the bad optics associated with the Democrats' unwillingness to work with Trump on this I think it could wind up costing them a lot more than sticking a finger in Trump's eye is worth. We'll see...

I agree. The reason Nancy Pelosi is the head of the Democrat party and ran unopposed is because she has all the goods on everybody and nobody dare oppose her.

I think she could end up causing a ton of damage to the democrats who refuse to hold her to a standard. They could get rid of her now and take a hit or they could circle the wagons like they did with Bill Clinton and be stuck with that legacy wrapped around their necks for decades to come.

How would drones and a response team have dealt with the caravan if they lined up shoulder to shoulder along the border? Anything less than a wall can be overcome by shear numbers rushing the border. Your next argument will be they’ll use ladders or tunnels, but how many can cross using a ladder compared to not having anything at all to stop them?

It should be shut down - not because it's racist, but because it's hopelessly naive. As Levin pointed out a day or two ago, that wall is not gonna get built - at least not by the Feds - without condemning a lot of private property along the border; and that's a Congressional prerogative that can't be commandeered by $1.4 trillion in private funds.

 

The same people who were conned into believing that Mexico was going to pay for it.

And now they've been conned into paying for it themselves.

This is the intelligence level of a large swath of Americans.

Let that sink in.
