For what, So Dementia Joe could refuse to honor the agreement and stall the evacuation for 4 months which is the only time they would come into play.

We got 1000 Afghan military service members released from the Taliban
No attacks on American Soldiers through May 2021 so no soldiers were killed since February of 2020
No more road side bombs killing children and American soldiers
No attacks on Kabul
13,000 troops sent home
Cease fire between the Taliban and the Afghans

 

Trump got made a fool of because he negotiated a deal with a bunch of terrorists, and now he and his fellow failures such as Pompeo are trying to pin the blame on Biden. Biden was a fool for sticking to that bum deal and trying to rush to get our people out of Afghanistan by a symbolic date. Yet even this is barely scratching the surface of what went wrong here and focusing too much on a couple of presidents who were too eager to end US deployment in Afghanistan quickly. They both failed to plan and prepare adequately for the possibility of a rapid fall of the Afghan government. Both knew it would fall at some point and were content to accept that, but evidently both failed to plan adequately so that this chaotic evacuation could be avoided and groups of current and former military members wouldn't have to volunteer their efforts to get their former Afghan colleagues to safety (Task Force Pineapple and Task Force Dunkirk).

 

The whole thing stinks to high heaven as far as I can see. I can not wait to see Pompeo dragged in front of the Senate armed services committee and grilled for days about what he Donny and the rest of the ignorant lackeys in their corrupt lame duck regime were up to.

 

So you're trying to convince me that Dementia Joe could make a phone call in the middle of the night and evacuate the embassy and troops but in 8 months he just didn't have enough time.

Biden had 5 months to get everyone out without any problems from the Taliban and there isn't a single reason you can come up with to dispute that.
You think Biden could make a call in the middle of the night to evacuate the embassy and troops in one day buy couldn't do anything in 5 months?
You might sell that to yourself but nobody else is buying it.
All he had to do is abide by the agreement. That means issuing an order to the Americans on location 30 days prior to May 1st stating if you don't leave by May 1st there will be no American forces to protect you as we are leaving May 2nd.

Biden changed the agreement for his own political praise to Sept 11. The Taliban told him if he wasn't out by May per the agreement they would start their seizure of the country May 1st.
Biden refused to take their threat seriously and on May 1st, the Taliban started their occupation.
This is on Biden's head ALONE.

Trump didn't make the deal to put Biden in a bad light. Trump made the deal convinced he was going to be re-elected so that theory gets dashed on the rocks of reality.

 

Problem with this post: Biden didn't stick to the original agreement, that's pretty much confirmed by national sources and hell, the OP post itself. The Taliban resumed military activities on May 1st. The Taliban were simply uninterested in playing American domestic politics as Democrats were, and we as a nation paid the price.

Was Trump also in a hurry to get out? Perhaps, but if the Taliban would have attacked Kabul there would've been a political price for them to pay as well. Trump did order the MOAB to strike in Afghanistan, and they saw the strikes in not-too-far away Syria after the gassings. The Taliban knew(actually dare I say more foreigners than Americans knew) not to mess with Donald Trump. That was the positive of being a loose cannon, you didn't know when he'd strike so they tended to stay on his good side.

And while we didn't get the concessions from NK that we wanted, we did for a time alleviate the military threat posed by North Korea. When Trump said he knew more than his generals, all you have to do is look at the world after the Pentagon regained control.

It's civilian command for a reason.
