Discussion in 'Political Opinions & Beliefs' started by BasicHumanUnit2, Sep 9, 2018.

?

What will happen when Leftist regain total control?

  1. They will be pacified and peace and harmony will spread coast to coast

  2. Nothing. it will be about the same as it is now

  3. There will be resentment as their corruption sets in but little violence or chaos

  4. Things will get chaotic and violence will spread. Bad times.

  5. People on the Right will be targeted and abused by the Left

The only state talking about secession is California. Are you equally happy to see them gone?

Trickle down has resulted in recessions under every republican president who has employed it and the biggest under Bush. Trickle down and deregulation is like throwing all the meat at once at the biggest dog in the pact and expecting him to share it. If you know anything about Keynesian, which appears you don't, it is not against tax cuts and deregulation. But, it does it incrementally and slowly, observes the trends then monitors and adjust. Unlike supply side, it tends to put the money in the hands of the consumer and addresses demand. Business tends to follow demand wherever it is. It's taught in economics while trickle down is laughed at. No one believes in dynamic scoring which projects long term revenue from tax cuts.....again, that assumes rich people will pump money into the ecomy faster then the middle class. It's a farce.

Lastly, businesses don't need incentives by lowering tax rates on their net profits. That's BS. They already pay zero taxes on any monies they reinvest in their business for wages and capital Expenses. That's the biggest tax break of all and allows business to right off personal expenses they have which supplements their net profit income. It also promotes purchasing which enhances manufacturing which drives the other business by demand .

One public grant moneies for police cruisers and fire engines and buying them by local small communities , has helped keep ford afloat for years which employs many and helped avoided a bailout. That's Keynesian, not trickle down.

You need to talk to accountants, CPAs and degreed economists most of whom think trickle down is a farce designed to
Milk the middle class. Just look at history. Recessions and increased deficits follow republicans like puppy dogs. You are arguing against facts. History is the truth teller.

All you're doing is looking at the first years budgets by Obama which had to pay for three wars and the Bush committed bailouts giveaway .By the end of his term he had cut the yearly deficit by 2/3. The debt will always grow exponentially because of the compound interest on the accumulated debts of prior budgets. I know the math is over your head, but only Dems have tried to lower the yearly debt and only Dems have managed to balance or moved close to balancing the budgets. Dynamic scoring is a made up farce. It allows fake budget makers to project anything they want. The CBO is the final arbiter of its effectness. Just look at the debt incurred by Bush and project debt by dufuss Don.
Get real, you can't cut taxes on the rich and corps who are already making record profits and increase spending at the same time

Of course Obamas first budget had to pay for two wars which were run on supplemental spending by Bush and not a bdgeted for along with paying for the Bush signed bailout giveaway. That's a joke reference that avoids facts.

I think you mean restore faith in the FIB (yes, I did that on purpose), which was wholly corrupted and biased by the left. Repair damage to our relations with allies and trading partners??? I thought this was a jab at Trump, not Obama and Secretary Hillary. Return civility to the office of the 'prez'...hmm. That's hilarious, coming from a liberal.

Funny, the FBI has always been a bastion of. conservatism as is Mueller and Trumps own appointments at both the DOJ and FBI . How long does the far left need to be accused of a conspiracy perpetrated by the republican deep state. Let's jus blame Benghazi while we're at it.

There still are a few. Jeff Flake and Joe Manchin come to mind. The problem is that the political parties have become their bosses rather than the people they represent. It is money moreso than it was 40 or 50 years ago.

I look at it this way. There are only two options in this scenario: trickle down or trickle up. I know how trickle down works physically on a macro basis. I do not know and cannot explain -- and neither can anybody else -- how trickle up works physically on a macro basis. Trickle down does not entail giving government money to anyone. Keynesian economics does, and it might work sometimes, for a while. (Don't give me the argument that says all money belongs to the government, so when the government lets you keep some of your money it is a subsidy.)
Yes, business get to deduct expenses from revenue for paying taxes. Duh! But they cannot deduct the money they use to finance capital expenditures. That comes from retained earnings which have already paid income taxes.

I don't over intellectual things or do a little song and dance when I analyze things. I simply say the deficit in any fiscal year belongs to the president who signed the budget for that fiscal year. Obama's largest deficit, 2009, was three times Bush's largest deficit, 2008.

There are a few, but so few to make any kind of negotiations virtually impossible.

I agree that money is a huge part of the problem. IMO, Citizens United was a very bad decision.

A few others also come to mind. A big cause of the problem is the 17th amendment. Before that if a state (the people) didn't approve their senators' actions, they could fire their butt.

Nonetheless, the Amendment was approved. You certainly know the Amendment process.

The Serenity Prayer comes to mind....or the Marine version is "quitcherbitchin about things you can't change". [IMG]

Wow, in other words, facts are immaterial. Then, you have admit that the deficits Resgan, Bush, Bush and now Trump who now has a deficit, not debt, at one trillion dollars, are all completely off their rocker. By that logic, Clinton was fantastic ! He balanced several budgets and reduced the debt. Hope you voted for Hillary.

As part of the recovery act and normally in
Recovery from most recessions, some capital expenses ARE. If you want to be real simple about trickle down, look at history, read Forbes Fox business and the archives. Don't be so disillusioned . It has NEVER WORKED.tax deductions ? Any businesse can deduct money they spend on wages, benefits and any necessary routine improvement to keep operating. Don't be rediculous. If your business heating unit fails or you hire more people during the xmass rush, you pay no taxes on that monies. In some cases, like during the recovery, investments you make that results in
New hires cap could also be deducted.

I guess you don't care that Bush declared the wars be put on a supplement which was then, not to appear as a deficit. Bush signed the bailout at the end of his fiscal year Obama paid for it. That's why the 2009 budget was higher. Get real.
The govt. was also required to pay unimployment benefits to the millions who had lost their jobs. The Bush tax cuts would not expire till later. The huge deficit was built in......like it is now by Trump for whomever becomes the next president.

I would go further than that. I would have the state governments appoint members of congress for a single term. The congress people would report to the state government rather than the "people." We should return to the idea of a union of states.

We should find ways to reduce the cost of political campaigns. We could ban political advertising. It is truly worthless and expensive. It helps nobody other than the candidates. I have a lot of ideas but most of them would upset people. I believe everyone would support an end to political advertising.
