Why most evangelical churches and their Sunday services look more like concerts than anything else. May be you should visit one or watch it on TV/YT.
Can you call a unique religious philosophy a religion? Or man created god to serve a natural desire. Those two beliefs, man's desire to serve and sinful nature are not exclusive, just one is darker. So disbelief is belief.
File non profit org papers with the US government, and viola, you have a religion. however, whether or not IRS will grant you 'tax free' status is another story altogether. A religion is just about anything you want it to be, really. There is no legal definition, though reasonable folks will ascribe to the requirements in order to be a religion various fundamental principles. That is more or less is an accord with my statement that 'religion' is a 'stage of aggregate human consciousness' 'sinful nature' is a subjective phrase with an assumed premise, it requires considerable qualification, analysis, etc. Better than disbelief and belief is to be cautiously open.
Or to not believe in a belief because you don't believe in the belief...insert emoji You assign no definition to religion, so the word is meaningless to you.
Correct. That is your belief that what someone else believes is not true. If it can't be proved either way, then both positions are a belief. The only way to not believe is to not be exposed to the concept. Once exposed, your only choices are to believe it true, believe it not true, or believe there is not enough evidence to choose one or the other.
"Believe" means that there's no evidence to prove smth. wrong, so you can believe it. Most of us aren't scientist who always need a proof. That's just a kind of freedom.
If I say I believe in unicorns, then you say, where is your proof because I do not believe you. Does your disbelief turn into a belief or is your disbelief a negative of belief. To believe in a religion all you need is faith. An assumption that is not rational.
It is, in this case, a belief that the existence of unicorns is not true. Or a belief that their existence is false. Same thing using different words. But ultimately I think you have it backwards. I don't just believe in unicorns, I know they are/were real. I don't believe in the powers that are attributed to them, but they themselves are real. They're single horn goats, and a farm used to breed them for circuses back in the 70's. But I'm willing to bet that you believe they aren’t real.
Yes/No If you read what you quoted very carefully you can see it depends solely on context. Marxism isnt that big of a leap, boy scouts cant even be used in the context you used it, at least not without additional info.
I've heard more than a few people refer to Marxism/Communism as a religion or replacement religion. I presume you have, too. And on a humorous note, the late great Jean-François Revel used to refer to Marxists/Communists as the Cult of Fiasco. Instant classic...
In Marxism, all modern religions and churches are considered as "organs of bourgeois reaction" used for "the exploitation and the stupefaction of the working class". It seems your definition is too loose to be useful. Or I am unbelieving of your belief
It's an attempt by ancient man to explain things he could not explain. We now have explanations for many of those things. And every time we have found an explanation it has NEVER turned out to be "God did it"
Actually Jesus is the reason for the theft of the season, given that most scholars estimate that his birth was closer to spring, and Yule, Saturnalia, and other mid-winter holidays already existed, before Christmas was established as being in December in the 4th century. He's not the reason for the season. He's an add on, or usurper, depending on how you want to look at it.
