    This isn't a "dispute". It's an impeachment.

Anything that could potentially help perpetuate Trump in power that is not related to "the will of The People" is a high crime. The Crowdstrike Conspiracy Theory would fit that bill.

Look... we're not talking about an innocent bystander who just happened to be jogging in the same direction that the assailants were running when the Bank was robbed. This is The President of the United States. He should know that if he does these things, he'll be impeached. Today it became clear that this is what the framers had in mind.

The only problem with that is that in his April 21 phone call and his July 25 phone call, Trump never mentioned general corruption in Ukraine, only the possible, unexplained corruption of Hunter Biden, his main rival's son. https://apnews.com/92fd8a4743e8447a8f8a7ec301ebe993

Man, some are dense. Congress sends subpoenas, if they are not honored, the court decides. Dems are in such a hurry they are not interested in the process.

The problem with that is Trump stated before that he didn’t want anything and Ukraine was never aware of the dem clown show narrative. It never came up in 5 meetings afterward.

That argument was more than obliterated today by the first expert witness (don't recall his name)

Actually, strike that.. it was torpedoed out of the water, not by the witness, but by the framers. The witness simply told us what the framers said about how idiotic that is when one of them brought it up. To the point where it would be foolish if Republicans were to ever come near it during the impeachment trial.

It's why I didn't even bother to include it here.

The court decides nothing in cases of Impeachment. If the witnesses don't show up, they are in contempt of Congress. If the President is the cause, then he is abusing power and is committing an Impeachable offense.

I learned quite a bit from today's depositions.

Three branches of government, some people should learn about it.

You mean like the framers? Because they were convinced that, in cases of Impeachment, there was only ONE.

The House of Representatives...shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

“Are you ready?” Pelosi (D-Calif.) asked her colleagues.

The Democrats might be making a mistake.

The Post reports, "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff left little doubt with fellow Democrats Wednesday that they plan to move swiftly to impeach President Trump as soon as this month.

"According to multiple Democratic lawmakers who attended a closed-door Capitol meeting, Pelosi announced no firm decision or timeline in moving toward a vote on Trump’s impeachment. But, a day after Schiff delivered a 300-page report detailing charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress against Trump, she made clear what lies ahead in the House."

The Democrats may be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The ultimate goal of impeachment is to remove Trump from office. That isn't going to happen, but it could happen in the November elections. However, impeachment failure could doom that eventuality.

Better to continue doing what they are doing -- make Trump look like an incompetent fool who is abusing the power of his office -- and let the American voter fire him in November.

As was explained today, if Trump were allowed to continue abusing power, he could easily just use it to perpetuate himself in the Presidency. Rendering the will of the American voter moot would be within his reach

You could address the arguments that Trump is already using in his defense, but I suppose that would mean you would have to adopt some modicum of intellectual honesty.

There was a crime, in fact, going by the Constitution and treating it as the highest law of the land. One of the experts explained that very clearly. And that, of course, is not even touching on all of the other impeachable offenses.

Republicans are fighting the Constitution at this point in their bid to save their own hides.

The notion that Trump was "stomping on corruption" is what sounds ridiculous, because it is.

Correct. That is the precise point being made in the OP.

Are you saying that I am being, somehow, dishonest?

That was merely my response to the OP, who also stated, "that's the point!"

I'm only saying there are better ways to address Trumps defensive arguments, which are already pretty weak.

I just didn't feel like addressing the same point I already mentioned. If that someone was perceived in relation to you, I apologize.

Trump really doesn't have to provide a defense. There is absolutely no crime committed. Leftists / Democrats do not get to decide Trump's intent. The Left is going to lose huge.

He bullies people into silence and settles out of court when that fails.

Won't work for him now, of course.
