Here's another graph showing how our per capita growth has grown significantly larger after the Federal Reserve existed.

Both real GDP and population grew faster in the pre-fed era, ergo, the ratio of the two will be lower than in the post-fed era. Another way of saying that real per capita GDP grew faster in the post-fed is real GDP and population both grew slower in the post-fed era, so I will gladly give you that point. But you will probably respond with the already refuted "standard of living" talking point, even though GDP per capita says absolutely nothing about how the wealth of an economy is distributed across a society or how the "average" person is actually living day-to-day.

By the way, your graph doesn't even have the correct time intervals. You cannot include the growth from 1904 to 1912 in the post-fed era.

Just because someone responds saying some random crap doesn't mean it's been "refuted", lol. Real GDP Per Capita has been and will always be the primary measure when comparing a countries standard of living.

Aside from that, it's hilarious what you will make up to push your failed ideology. Now the faster growth of our standard of living in the post-fed era is attributed to the fact that our population grew slower. I couldn't make this comedy up if I tried!!

You haven't provided a shred of evidence that per capita GDP is the "primary measure of standard of living", nor can you, because it doesn't actually measure that, since it doesn't incorporate how the GDP is distributed across a population or how the "average" individual is living day-to-day. Your nonsense has been refuted multiple times, and all you can say is GDP and population grew slower in the post-fed era than in the pre-fed era. Nice point...

Per capita GDP is the evidence. And nothing I have said has been refuted. You are living in a dream world. It was you who made the point about population growth, lol. And I agree, nice point...

You have embarrassed yourself this thread. I'd take the rest of the day off if I were you.

    1. Reagan gets a large across-the-board tax cut.....deficits go up.

    2. Dubya gets a large across-the-board tax cut.....deficits go up.

Rightwing version of Reality? "Tax cuts pay for themselves and balance budgets! It'll work NEXT time!!!!!"

What a shame. Nixon was forced to change the gold standard due to massive defecit spending by his predecessors. Why? Because the world was losing faith in the US dollar and was demanding gold instead. This in turn created our current fiat economy, that history has proven time and time again does not work and will crumble, as it is nothing more than a ponzi scheme.

Really? Then why the massive trade deficits? Why are entire industries now producing overseas? Record unemployment? If we produce so many goods, why are we so dependant on other countries goods? We are the world's largest consumers not producers. You get an A for effort, and a T for nice try. It's this line of thinking that got us where we are.

We are the largest producer of goods in services in the history of mankind. You get an F for your continued illogical hatred of the united states simply because you have irrational fears of government.

How can someone have an "irrational" fear of government? Did the Founding Fathers have an irrational fear of government when they created a limited federal government with checks and balances.

Is it irrational to fear government power after witnessing the history of totalitarianism in the 20th century? Maybe people who trust government too much are simply naive.

Consider the historical background , they lived in an era of strong monarchies absolute in many places so they took the appropriate steps to ensure that the new country will never slip into one by making it systemically impossible .

If you don't trust those you elect to run the administration who do you trust?
If you don't trust them then why you vote for them ?
What do you propose as a replacement for governments ?

No Founding Father ever believed that our Constitution made it systematically impossible for our government to slip into absolute tyranny. They still feared the Federal Government even after they created.

None of the Founding Fathers trusted elected officials just because they were elected. In the original Constitution and throughout American history up until the twentieth century, Senators were elected by the state legislators, not the people directly. This was because the Founding Fathers didn't completely trust officials elected directly by the people.

My personal opinion is that we should go back to a Constitutional sized government. One with limited power and checks and balances.

Your comments are just too dumb. Our trade deficit was $540 billion in 2012. Our Gross Domestic Product was $15.684 trillion. Merely 4%. I guess that makes us completely dependent on other countries according to you.

The United States is the largest producer of goods and services in the history of mankind.

Wow! Did you really make that statement?

What about this quote from George Washington: "Government isn't reason. Government isn't eloquence. Government is force. Like fire it is a fearful servant and deadly master."

    What makes you think so?

This is what modern day conservatism is leaning on. Knit picking slight anomalies in a large pool of data and claiming its a trend. While the rest of us in the real world are trying to emulate our past successes, these people are trying to rebuild the imaginary American emprire of Ronald Reagan.

An "irrational" fear in Government would imply that you are fearing the intentionally Government would want to hurt the American people in anyway. Why would that be irrational? Because the United States Government on every level, at every agency is made up of, you guessed it, The American People.

So it would be irrational for the American people to want to hurt the American people.

Its called 'logic'. I know it comes hard to some, but try and use that ish.

Yes, they did fear presidents. That's why most of the powers delegated in the Constitution were granted to Congress - including the power to declare war.

Oh, brother! If this was the case, then we wouldn't need jails or prisons because Americans would never hurt other Americans.
