But we would probably be the first that had the capabilities to build and furnish shelter, grow or produce its own food and relocate quickly from unsuitable environments.

Extinction is not a threat at this time.

Yes, well, a $#!+coin is also a "finite" number. Just a really, really big one. Certain resources will probably run out and become uneconomical to use at some point, but that just means we'll use substitutes. Our descendants will probably think we were insane to burn petroleum for its energy content when it is so useful as a chemical feedstock, for lubricants, etc. Much as we think our ancestors were severely misguided to burn whales for their energy content. I would be more concerned about depletion of bioresources like forests and fish, as they have a level of sustainable yield that we are exceeding.

IMO there is a small but real current threat from bioweapons research, especially by terrorists.

Drought is less likely in a warmer world. Bird flu has been around for a long time, and at some point we will probably find ways to stop it from killing domestic fowl.

Noted. But not part of natural processes.

Right, at this point the only natural extinction threat we face would be the microscopically small chance of a major comet or asteroid impact, and it would probably have to be worse than the K-T event.

The nihilistic modern left will add us to the 99% extinct list way before we run out of resources.

    Another alarmist claim debunked.

The End of Snow — Again
    Kip Hansen
Snow Extent in the Northern Hemisphere … the Highest in 56 years, Increases the Likelihood of Cold Early Winter

"Just a quick note about those predictions and projections of “The End of Snow” (You remember that, don’t you? I mentioned another such nonsensical media-meme here.)

According to post at Severe Weather Europe:Snow Extent in the Northern Hemisphere now Among the Highest in 56 years Increases the Likelihood of Cold Early Winter Forecast both in North America and Europe”. Images that follow are from the snow page at Global Cryosphere Watch. . . . "

Of course, if we do have a brutal winter (it looks possible here, as the last month has been unseasonably cold), it will have been caused by CO2, same as an unusually mild winter...

Reality is on the side of the skeptics.

Don't Be So Sure That The Climate Extremists Have "Won"
    November 29, 2022/ Francis Menton
    [IMG]

    • Undoubtedly, the question right now at the top of everyone’s mind is, When is the Manhattan Contrarian’s Energy Storage Report coming out? After all, he previously promised it for September, and then October, and here we are almost in December and we still haven’t seen it.

    • It’s a fair question. Being a blogger, I don’t have much appreciation for the formalities of the publication process. In blogging, you finish the post, do a quick proofread, press “Publish,” and there it is. With this, it has been rounds of peer review, editing, typesetting, proofreading, and so forth. However, I’m now told that the official issue date will be Thursday, December 1.

    • After the publication, I’ll have several posts expounding on parts of the Report, particularly those portions that cover topics I have not already beaten to death here on the blog. But for now I want to focus on the most important aspect of this, which is: Don’t get discouraged in thinking that the climate extremists have “won.” They have not.

I got shut down by Twitter for the crime of posting Where is the climate emergency? several times to warmist/alarmists threads they started where they respond with a barrage of insults on me and to the article, they deliberately ignored just like they do here.

I decided that since Twitter still censors even harmless article and completely civil comments, I made therefore decided to delete the account and walk away.

Convinced more than ever that warmists/alarmists are TERRIFIED of the article which means they fear it because they don't want to be free and see the reality.

    Up yours Musk!

More Climate Misinformation and Factual Errors in the Seattle Times. Should You Care?

Perhaps I should not read the Seattle Times anymore.

During the past weeks, there have been several climate-related stories and opinion/cartoon pieces that are just plain wrong. Clear factual errors, or hyping/exaggerating the impacts of global warming.

And there are dozens of additional examples of profound errors in Seattle Times climate pieces over the years, several discussed in this blog. Newspapers should be about communicating the truth, not advocacy of a certain politized viewpoint.

The citizens of a democracy must be well informed about important issues of the day, with newspapers playing an important role. As shown below, the Seattle Times is failing in its responsibilities.

Worse than that, the Times has suppressed information contradictory to their problematic information.

Let me provide some recent examples.

Is Climate Change Inundating the Quinault Nation on the Central Washington Coast?

It started with an article about how the Feds are providing funds to move a Quilayute Village away from the coast because of climate change: The ST claimed that rising sea level and stronger storms resulting from global warming was the cause.

The article is quite specific about this:

And the Seattle Times doesn't stop there. Seattle Times editorial cartoonist David Horsey has a "Climate Carol". Nearly all of it is wrong.

And he makes the claim about the Quinault village. The ocean is rising and coastlines are sinking from climate change. And yes storms are getting bigger.

The problem? None of this is true. And it can be PROVEN not to be true. . . .

    The California drought is over.
    January 05, 2023
The End of the Current California Drought[/paste:font]

The multiyear meteorological drought over California is rapidly ending.

Considering the enormous precipitation...both rain and snow...during the past month, coupled with the extraordinary precipitation predicted during the next ten days, the precipitation situation over the Golden State has been rapidly and radically altered, with good expectations for a refill of the major reservoirs serving the state. . . .

This after some warmist/alarmists have been moaning about a dry West for a while but since last year it has been above average for the southwest thus easing the drought into spotty areas which is common.
