Just trying to add some context. Personally as much as I support impeachment, I think there would be more legitimacy if he were removed from office through electoral means. Then the most fanatical of his supporters would have nothing to bitch and whine about.

Having Trump in office is far more of a threat than removing him.

I already have. Removing someone as unqualified and undignified as Trump from office trifles in comparison with the damage already done to your democracy by years of criminality and abuse of power from politicians across the board starting in modern times with GHW Bush and Clinton right up to today.

Removing Trump from office might be the first step in restoring what is left of American democracy as he is dismantling what remains with lies and attacks on democratic institutions he is sworn to uphold like the free press and legitimacy of the executive branch both domestically and in foreign affairs. That being said, I think there is a palace coup underway and removing him could be as dangerous as leaving him in office. The point is that democracy in America is already on it's deathbed and has been ailing for many many years.

The US system is based on the British system, with the same 'quirk', as were these other countries mentioned.
