It's a short term thang. You either believe that American steel can compete or you don't.

    You don't.

    Your right. I don't.
Those 150 year old plants ain't gonna do it.
It would have been better just to give them some money for new ones.

That's what Trump is giving them.
Did you get a thank you note from US Steel?

As you attempt to criticize your way up the ladder of respectability?
Class is something earned, not something you are entitled to- and I don't think you know the difference. Spare us the ugly details.

If Whirlpool starts to use our steel, their costs will still be higher and their problems will continue to exist.
Also, bikes assembled here are using Japanese parts, and their costs will rise.
I also used Toyota as an example as their costs will rise due to the high costs of materials in this country. A perfect example is BMW of North America, a company that assembles cars here and is suffering because of Trump's tariffs
    on materials not produced here.
I am aware that Harley has plants abroad and they are moving more of their operations abroad because of Trump's tariffs.
The high cost of labor and benefits in the US has resulted in companies not being competitive and this is why they moved abroad. Most of those companies
probably use robotics anyway to keep labor costs down.

And millions are under-insured with nearly useless policies they're going bankrupt to pay for.

Stop paying for insurance and start negotiating directly with providers

We have a HIDDEN COSTS health care system in which NO ONE KNOWS what the cost of their care will be until after the fact and they receive a bill in the mail.Often these bills from both the doctors and hospital show the price both settled for from the insurance company and the amount that would have been billed had you had no insurance, usually the amounts are WORLDS apart. They settle with the insurance company for VASTLY LESS than they would have taken from the uninsured patient.ROBBERY!!!And it needs to be stopped,it is a completely CROOKED CORRUPT SYSTEM.

The providers will typically settle for much less from an uninsured patient for non-elective services.

In my experience it can go both ways. Even the same provider will not be consistent in this regard.

Ultimately, they'll take what they can get.
The Amish pay cash only and have worked out deals that give them great prices. Docs and hospitals are happy to get their business

Many people with mental disability -- people most vulnerable to being uninsured can not negotiate.

Um, "the vast majority" is not 100% and it's going to cost you a helluva lot more than what you're currently paying.

You're apparently ignorant of the fact that Medicare-for-All covers a lot more, like dental, vision, hearing and many other services not currently included or accounted in healthcare spending by CMS.

The price tag for the additional "freebies" is $750 Billion on top of what you're already spending.

Even the most Liberal policy institutes have concluded it will cost a lot more.

No, it isn't. Supplemental Security Income is State-based program that is oriented to need, not medical disability. The States are much more lax in determining disability than the standards set by Social Security for the OADI program.

Social Security's only involvement in SSI is that it prints the checks and makes the deposits.

SSI is a needs-based program for the disabled and those 65 or older. Several Million Americans over age 65 get SSI, because their monthly Social Security benefit is less than $750/month, which is the maximum SSI pays.

    Why tax based ?
Why aren't you volunteering to pay your own principle? Why should your insurance cost less than the guy who makes more than you?
