Drifting slightly off topic, but I love things like that. The tone of a distorted electric guitar is so beautifully suited to playing vioin music - it can produce just the same emotional performance, if it's done well, on Romantic works in particular. More people should be trying it.

Try this one by some 18 year old student that I found on youtube:

    Found it!!!
I called a friend at the Chicago Music Exchange and he finally got back to me.
No pictures available, but it's a custom job made by B.C. Rich. That's why there's no logo on the headstock.
Apparently, Hammett didn't like the compact body design much, so he kept it for 8 months or so then got rid of it.
Tommy Iommi supposedly picked it up, but no word after that.
That had started to eat at me, lol.

Absolutely, then Pat Metheny (a master in that genre) and Eddie Van Halen.

Ah-ha. trying to go all Kerry King, was he? Sorry Kirk - it don't matter what guitar you have, you still can't play that fast!
    :)

Wouldn't have thought it would be much use to Tony Iommi, though!

There's just no point in learning the guitar without having the faces to go with it!

The master: MAB. That guy is a machine. Aside from his own stuff, he's done lots of medleys I really like, like this one:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITYva3zDoxA"]Michael Angelo Batio Zeppelin Forever Led Zeppelin medley - YouTube[/ame]

And since we're on the topic of Led Zeppelin :)-D), I thought Jimmy Page did a great job here:

Joe Walsh is a better song writer than he is a guitarist....IMHO.

I also forgot to mention Mark Knopfler.....great diversity, blues, country, rock, classical, and so on

Alex Feather Akimov just shared a video with me on YouTube with Greg Howe. The video kind of sucks, but song is pretty sweet.

I know, Iommi was pretty much a stickler for his SG's. Maybe the shape took his fancy, who knows. With a name like his tho, you don't have to have a reason.

It would be an odd thing to do, since he'd have to string it the wrong way round to actually play it, but I guess he might just collect odd guitars that he likes anyway.
