Spectacularly in every other first world country with single payer. They get better care, more efficiently for a fraction of our cost. We will get there soon.

Health insurance has always been tightly regulated. We've never had a "free market".

You veil yourself in the backwards "virtues" of free-market capitalism to justify amassing wealth while babies starve.

    In Jesus' name, right?

America is a nightmare compared to Canada, Japan, and the rest of the first world.

Nope. In my name. The problem of babies starving is a problem for those that created them. But hell, you want to be Mother Teresa, you go for it, (I'd read her published diary first); just don't bring a gun to my table demanding I help you--I’m not a slave, I'm a free man.

You live in a civil society, by choice, and are subject to the laws of that society. So yea, you are and will continue to be paying for those things you don’t like.

You must also like the tariffs, since you seem to enjoy paying more for less.

Good thing you're on some silly forum, cuz you'd get laughed out of the room if this was your thesis you were defending

I don't know... For sure you haven't come up with any data to refute it.

You’re making the assumption Trump is a supporter of capitalism; I assure you, he is not--he is a pragmatic statist, tried and true. I, on the other hand, am, and therefore condemn Trump as power-lusting fraud--you know, a male version of Hillary.

Yet you like it that we pay twice as much for healthcare.

Every question has a different answer and I have no conservative one size fits all bumper sticker answer to every economic question as socialist do which is "Corporate greed". As per the question in the OP it's a multi faceted answer involving numerous in depth discussion on complex issues of litigation, drug patents, hospital requirements, illegal imigration, education cost, on and on and on. I would love it if single payer government run healthcare would miraculously solve all these problems but as Obamacare showed it seemed to just exacerbate them.

Yet somehow Medicare exists within the same system and provides coverage for much less.
How do you think they do that?

Obamacare didn't do much for cost except to enlarge the pool by about 7 million people. The real accomplishment was getting coverage for 15 million poor people.

Nope. I'll pay free market prices; but detest government regulatory prices, like rent control prices in New York--they suck.

It would help if you would list the reforms that will reduce the cost of healthcare. I do think the government is part of the problem but that the nature of the private market is also responsible for the high prices.
