I agree...they have made many new traditions and beliefs over time, But the claim involved biblical reference to ancient human migration, having read most versions of these books I have never seen it anywhere.

Could be American pilgrims, Dutch/English settlers in Afrika, Spanish Conquistadors to name a few, all waving the banner.

Yeah, the spread of ex-European cultures around the world also spread Christianity. I think the question of its history is separate from the individual's beliefs today. Sure, without the British migration to the Americas it's highly doubtful that anyone in America would be considering Christianity, but that's not their fault. They deal with what's put in front of them.

Abraham and his family migrated from Sumeria to Kemet, according to scripture.

    I will clarify:

The stories in the bible concerning the creation of mankind make absolutely no reference to that which you have put forward as truth or valid interpretation....and in fact my own is more accurate.

Europeans quest for heaven meant they would have to create a hell for those already in heaven once they were evicted.

Religion is a quest for meaning, true - but the Christians view Heaven as their other world, the new world in America was only ever a means to that end, as was the promised land for the Jews. That a few hundred years the settlers who came 240 years ago had a different means to achieve meaning is irrelevant. That's not their position. That's not the proposition they're evaluating at all.

Colonization was, of course, a horrible thing for most native populations.

It comes from the Canaanite God El..

    Remember Baal, El, and Asherah?

Yahweh is a typical ancient Near Eastern "divine warrior" who leads the heavenly army against Israel's enemies

Congrats! That response was 7 months old!

As to your question, I don't know the answer to that, although I'm sure there is some legitimate historical answer to your question. So giving black folks the Bible - you are opposed to that I guess?

Enough of the BS. Let's get back to the thread.

I Africa, most peoples were led by religious leaders who played an important part in their daily life. When they were taken into captivity and sold as slaves, they lost that steadying influence they had known all their lives. In addition, being taken into captivity was a sign either that their gods had forsaken them or were simply ineffective.

So, they come to a new world that has become far more powerful than they. They see the "masters" worshiping new gods and naturally feel it will make their lives better. This new religion provided many of the same things as their old ones - leaders claiming to know what's best and the joy of music.

    Make sense?:salute:

If you consider the church as being one of the things keeping you poor, than I think you did answer the question. The jury isn't out in your case. You delivered the verdict and are being thanked for your service.

Your welcome. I didn't feel that way growing up about the church, but in today's society church is big business and the church doesn't serve the community in the way it did when I was growing up.

Hope that cleared it up for you.

Actually I didn't, black folks are spiritual people by nature. Now there was a time black folks weren't allowed to read and write and were it was believed that we didn't have souls. Then all of a sudden I guess white folks got a new revelation and decided to give us the Bible, so I ask was it to make us a more useful people or more righteous people if there is such a thing.
