I'm sorry. You just do not warrant any further replies.

And pro gunners refuse to acknowledge that the current system is unacceptable and can provide no alternative that works.

And read my relpy to it. Or lets just keep going over the same ground

Canadians have no real Constitutional rights that can't be quickly taken away by the current party in control.

Canada has not right to keep and bear arms. Has no right to free speech.

Canadians are civil rights weaklings, socialists.

I think you should explain how preventing law abiding citizens from owning a weapon would make crime rates go down, when criminals will still have access to these weapons through the black market, very similar to anything else that has ever been "banned."

As far as mass shootings go, if capital punishment and the existing laws we have against murder do not "scare" them, then what on earth makes you think they would have a problem with obtaining an illegal weapon to carry out their carnage?

Why is it very hard...actually extremely hard....for criminals in the UK or Japan to get a gun? Therein lies your answer

Gangbangers who deal with illegal drugs, human trafficking, prostitution, etc., are NOT going to turn in their weapons, Einstein.

These places do not have the same kind of problems that we have here in the States. Apples and oranges comparison there, bud. You need to do better than that!

They don't have the same problems as us. They also don't have as many guns. Thanks for making my point

That's an interesting point, calling it an "Industry". I'd say the industry is running on perpetual steam. To feed it requires fear and paranoia ..... and the by-product of guns and war is .......... fear and paranoia .... which runs the assembly line for the manufacture of ..... guns and war.

Fear and paranoia is big business in the us. It's a growth industry. The gun lobby is just one group that uses it

Why is it you libs don't fear and actually mock terrorism, slobber over thugs that are actually dangerous, yet have this extreme fear of inanimate objects, guns? Guns don't kill, liberals on the other hand kill and they are one major factor in why I carry religiously wherever I go. Maybe you should move to Canada where you can be MUCH safer? :eyepopping:

Rural and small town Canadians are as safe as their American counterparts.

And urban Canadians also face higher crime. Crime is primarily a function of demographics. And if Canada had a cities like Detroit---it's crime picture would be very similar.

Criminals do not register their firearms. For 10 years, Canada had a complete national registry of all firearms, theoretically every firearm in the nation was in the registry and could be traced tot he owner. Didn't work out that way, which was a major reason they dropped the long gun registry.

All first world nations with gun control have lower crime than the US....and they have cities too.

WRONG. They may have lower firearm related homicide or firearm related crime, but they do NOT all have lower crime. AUS for example, has much higher violent crime than the USA.

From the FBI UCR and the AUS Bureau of Statistics Crime Reports:

<Mod Edit>
Violent crime has declined sharply in the US since the mid 1990’s. While this is due to a variety of changes in enforcement, rehabilitation of criminals, and overall higher standards of living, a large portion of the similarities between the crime levels of US and western European countries hinges on differences in what crimes are reported. The FBI counts four categories of crime as violent crime: murder and non-negligible manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. While aggravated assault is the only assault category included under violent crime reports in the US, other nations include the much more numerous level 1 assault in violent crime reporting. This makes the US appear relatively less violent from a statistical perspective.

That's not surprising at all. Violent crime must have declined in the US since the mid 1990's because that's about the time they took their violent crime on the road. They took it to Irak in 1990, and with a short breather have been there every since. In 2001 they invaded Afghanistan and haven't left yet. Bosnia in 1995 and Serbia in 1999, Yemen from 2002 till present time. Pakistan from 2004 till present time. Syria in 2014 till present time. Yep. I'd say it would be virtually impossible to maintain an equal amount of violent crime in the US with so much of its violent efforts being spent abroad.:machinegun:

He gave you the name of the source, and the link has been published previously. It's from the Australian government.
