latest figures put social mobility in the US lower than every single industrialised nation in the world except romania, why is this the case ?
Much of America is a third world country that drags down the part of America that remains a first world country.
Did you see the Cleveland cell phone lady video? Did you read Frank McCourt's book "Angela's Ashes". McCourt's father's affinity for Guinness got in the way of his being able to hold a job and support his family in the US and there was very little in the way of the dole here for his family so he took them back to Ireland where he knew the dole was readily available. The situation is reversed today. The industries are largely gone out of America's old industrial cities, but the immigrants still keep coming, only this time its for the readily available welfare here, not for the available work as it was in the Sr McCourt's time.
The USA is a fine country to live in provided that you have money but very cruel if you don't. This explains why there are so many US expats living around the world.
So true. and yet progressives keep wanting to compare America to all those other first world countries and say how backwards we are, and it is all because our policies are not like these European countries. Well, that's going to change soon because much of Europe is going to become like the U.S.
