Why is there always a racial background in almost every social problem?

The more I read recent news, the more I face a simple fact: almost every event, especially if it’s has something to do with social problems, is covered and discussed in the context of race. So many racial comments! So many explanations of different problems via racial reasons! Even government officials (you know who I am talking about) use race as a trigger, leverage or whatever to get certain result.
Isn’t it disgusting? We have spent so much time and effort to create a just society where everyone is equal – and what? Why are we still as racist as we used to be a century ago, with only difference - we pretend not to be?

I wouldn't say we're equally as racist. We just talk about it more openly.

America is actually less racist than a lot of the world.

Mostly because we still use race when talking about things. Think about it, we say white or black. Not English-American, French-American,Nigerian-American etc.

We are much less racist than a century ago, but race is an important element of the Democrat narrative to portray anyone who disagrees with them in a negative light.

It would depend on what you mean by racist. America is obviously still very obsessed with race, given how there's always turmoil whenever someone who happens to be white shoots someone who happens to be black. I think the USA cares most about race actually.

Caring the most about race isn't being the most racist.

Typically, nations that avoid discussing race have the most issues with it. Europe has much more racism than America on average, primarily because they have nations based on ethnic identities. America is a nation based on ideology, so it leaves more room for diversity.

A lot of the world outside of the West is very racist. Look at how Russia deals with Tatars or East Asian immigrants. Look at how much of the Islamic World treats ethnic minorities.

Japan is a very xenophobic country in general.

Basically, what makes America different is that we spend a lot of time examining race. While that might make it look like we're more racist, it's actually a sign that we're willing to address things that most other nations would rather sweep under the rug.

It's part of why it's difficult to take certain activists here seriously.

A similar thing is experienced with feminism. Feminists tend to be the loudest in countries where there is very little sexism. You probably know this from personal experience in Sweden.

as I said, it depends on what you mean by racist. The USA certainly makes a very big deal out of it, and thinks very much in terms of race, and about race in general. In a very literal sense, the US is then very racist insofar as -ist means one who does, and the USA certainly does race.

Well, I'm using the definition of racist that means "intolerant of race."

We were the only country that had a Civil War over slavery, there are the Yankee's in the north and the Dixies in the south, and both sides hate each others guts. One side supported slavery, jim crow laws, the KKK, segregation etc, while the other side ended every single one of those things federally which is why Dixies hate the federal government, because Yankee's use it to control them and stop them from oppressing others using their religion as an excuse.
