I'm going to take it a bit further than Huckabee. When God is kicked out, people turn elsewhere. The one thing all these mass killers have in common, is the occult sites they visit on the computors.

Many of the school shooters were NOT STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOL!

And do you REALLY THINK a bloody Bible picture or quote is going to get kids to avoid violence?

My reply was to the OP suggesting we needed to have God in schools to prevent massacres.

God is the CAUSE of massacres, more often than not, and God has happily skewered 1st graders, too, when He wasn't consigning them to slavery (at least the ones His soldiers didn't rape).

Indeed, a difficult life made more difficult by cruelty and abuse by family and society alike is the reality that produces mass murder with suicide endings.

Indeed. However much empathy I can feel for these school-kids' parents, I find it hard to feel sorry for the US as a nation here. You guys chose to live in a society where people, including people with psychiatric problems, have easy access to guns, so you've got to live with the consequences.

 

Now if every American school and mall and cinema had watchtowers with army snipers 24/7 on them .......................

There are 3 classic "types" of mass killers --

1 - the classically insane (Tucson etc)

2 - the criminally psychpathic (the DC sniper)

3 - the chronically depressed who suffer a triggering rage (workplace shootings)

The jury is still out on which kind the CT school shooter is.

The classic anti-atheist argument is that an atheist answers to no higher power therefore he/she has no moral contraints to gratify her/his selfishness.

I think Huck is correct, however if he had phrased his comments in a more psychological science way, he would have more credibility.

 

Or armed security with metal detecting gates.

Even without a mass killer breaking into an elementary school, there is still plenty of gun and knife violence in American schools.

The schools need better security measures.

 

The reality of the incident that took place in Newtown, CT is that it was not due to illegal guns nor anything that has to do with gun rights.
It was simply a madman who had access to legal and licensed firearms committing multiple atrocious acts.

The unfortunate outcome of this type of insanity will be more insanity in the form of government and anti-gun advocates lobbying for more stringent gun control laws. This will be an incorrect approach being that there is no amount of legislation that will put a stop to the desire in some to inflict injury and even murder others. If this were true, than there would be no gang violence, sale of narcotics, innocent people being caught in the crossfire, etc. This reality rings loud and clear in some inner-city areas where laws have been enacted to put a stop such behaviors.

Simply put, there are no laws or legislation that can stop insanity and insane impulses. Unfortunately, these things can only be stopped by the individuals who commit such acts.

 

The Jews never defended anything, they were ALWAYS the aggressors. They come up from Egypt and CONQUERED. Joshua (maybe their 'greatest' general) claimed Jericho and then slaughtered every man, woman and child in town. So I guess it is the same as massacring defenseless 1st graders, eh?
