He attended Trump rallies, believing in his promise to combat the ongoing heroin epidemic. Two years after his son's death, Kraig discovered a painting called "Unafraid and Unashamed," which led him to follow its painter to a Trump rally in Iowa. There, he asked Trump about his plans to address the opioid crisis, and Trump promised to help develop rehab centers and treatment centers. However, when the first healthcare bill of the Trump administration was released, Kraig was disappointed to find that it didn't dedicate enough resources to the opioid crisis, leading him to question Trump's commitment to this issue. This realization marked a turning point for Kraig, as he came to understand that Trump didn't truly care about opioid addiction or healthcare. 00:05:00 In this section of the "Why Trump’s Troubadour Has Turned Against Him" YouTube video by NowThis, Kraig Brown, a Trump supporter and father who lost his son to heroin addiction, expresses his disappointment with the president's actions regarding the opioid crisis. That was all very pointless given Biden's inability to control the border and letting thousands die from drugs being transported across the border.
Does he feel good about the open border and all the drugs coming across now? What has Biden done that he is disappointed with Trump for not doing?
I imagine he feels pretty bad that Speaker Johnson wouldn't put the Senate Border Bill to the floor for a vote.
Oh yes of course... The border is Republicans fault since they wouldn't sign the crappy Bill put forth that would only benefit illegals. Has Biden done anything specific such as opening up these rehab facilities or allocating money to drug treatment?
I agree. But the war on drugs will not be won at the border. While there is a market for them, they will continue pouring in. The war must be fought in schools. But it's difficult to find people who want to go into a profession that MAGAs have undermined so much. Even by tagging teachers as "pedophiles" when they are simply doing their job.
The bill was led by, negotiated by, a Republican which contains numerous items republicans have wanted passed. To your last question: In support of President Biden’s Unity Agenda, the Biden-Harris Administration has taken significant steps to address substance use disorder treatment and recovery services, including allocating funds for rehab centers. Here are some notable initiatives: Rural Opioid Treatment and Recovery Initiative: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced the launch of nearly $50 million for this initiative. The funding aims to support establishing and expanding comprehensive substance use disorder treatment and recovery services in rural areas. It includes efforts to increase access to medications for opioid use disorder, such as buprenorphine. The initiative recognizes the challenges faced by rural communities, including geographic isolation, transportation barriers, and limited substance use disorder providers1. Cracking Down on Nursing Homes: President Biden pledged to protect seniors’ lives and life savings by cracking down on nursing homes that commit fraud, endanger patient safety, or prescribe unnecessary drugs2. Second Chance Month: During Second Chance Month, President Biden used his authority to uphold the values of redemption and rehabilitation by commuting the sentences of fellow individuals3. These efforts demonstrate the administration’s commitment to improving care, supporting recovery, and ensuring access to essential services for those in need.
OP makes a thread about the opioid crisis and CONVENIENTLY ignores the fentanyl crisis ushered in by DIRTY JOE. What's the big plan here OP? Hate on trump while more drugs keep pouring into the country while you folks ignore it? sounds very productive! Good job OP!
