Why was Ben Carson not smart enough to understand what vetting is?

Well you can't have it both ways. Either George Bush didn't do enough to fight terrorism, or he did too much.

Liberals are talking out of both ends. But the blame Bush forever crap is untenable.

I have to disagree, he's a highly qualified and world renowned surgeon and a very intelligent man, there is no doubt of that. However, even very intelligent people can labor under large delusions, indeed, very often intelligent people are the most deluded as they use their superior mental facilities to better fool themselves.

They habitually do. ISIS, and Al Quida before them have never been secretive about the fact that they use terror to instill fear into the West, and to force the West to spend inordinate amounts of time and money on creating the illusion of security.

The right wing and its media are easy victims of this strategy.

Every time something happens, we get a new outburst of fearmongering and xenphobia, all wrapped up in chest beating jingoism.

Many conservatives in America live in fear, It's the primary message of thier media.

Bruce Hoffman, Director of the Center for Security Studies at Georgetown University, who has nearly four decades of terrorism research experience, stated in his report, Terrorism and the Media, that this type of media coverage is actually harmful to our national security.

He writes, "Only by spreading the terror and outrage to a much larger audience can the terrorists gain the maximum potential leverage that they need to effect fundamental political change."

A key factor of their objective is to create fear among the target population. Hoffman argues, "it is an essential factor in any terrorist's agenda that the whole tactic of terrorism is based upon, and that is visible in all parts of terrorist activity."

This strategy to gain attention is intentional. To an important extent, terrorists also want to intimidate the audience and the target government so that "even the threat of possibly becoming victim of terrorist violence is enough to create fear."

The whole point of terrorism is to create terror, and FOX News is playing right into their twisted game. But this doesn't stop some Republican presidential hopefuls from joining in on the fray.

They certainly got the attention of the French and the Russians. Tell the families of the hundreds who have been murdered that there is nothing here -- just move along. :alcoholic:

While there was an explosion of jingoism in French media, France has not stopped accepting refugees. and their real response was a security and law enforcement one, instead of the fearmongering and pandering taht we see from the American right.

Russia is not representative. It has never accepted refugees from anywhere.

I got the point. Of course ISIS is trying to use the threat of terror to instill irrational fear. And to a large degree, the threats are overblown. But they're real enough to pay attention to. What happened to the French and Russians can happen in the US.

As far as FOX, I really doubt you watch it, much less understand what information they provide listeners. Sorry, I had to chuckle when you threw out the 'FOX card'. It's an old but popular tactic for the far left to pull.

This is interesting because it turns out China was there the whole time. What interesting about other posts in this thread is Obama was critizied and gaffed worse, but if you said anything anyone here is saying about Carson you were racist or an uncle tom.

China declared war on ISIS because of many circumstances including there own guys who were in the region, they literally confirmed it themselves.

    This is false.

But you can try and document your claim. I won't hold my breath.

You began by falsely claiming that China was in Syria "the whole time" a claim which is false, and which you still cannot document.

This story is dated Nov 21st, nearly two weeks after Carson made the false claim that China had troops in Syria.

This announcement is in response to the fact that five Chinese nationals were killed in the attack in Mali, again two weeks after the date of your claim.

Try again, and don't lecture people about "believing what they want to believe" when you can't document a false claim.

You do realize that the date doesnt matter until the attack occurred right, so it doesnt make sense to say 2 weeks unless you think they would declare war before they knew what would occur unless they can see the future.

Second all the articles say that China has data on ISIS and Syria, hence why they declared war, and they were in mali for observation. Which make total sense, and of course you didnt read, because they ahd already sent Military advisors to Syria before. Unless you have forgotten, or rather did not know.

The date does matter because of the claim you made,

Russia Today is not a reliable source. Although it's amazing the way right wingers will rant about communists on thread and then cite Russian propoganda on another.

I agree that Carson would be a horrible president. The guy even believes that "Satan" created the big bang theory. I voted for Obama, the first time. I only wish our media would have vetted him as well, instead of watching coverage of reporters wet their pants every time they asked him a question, not from fear, but from excitement. Most of these reporters were females, but even Chris Matthews got a tingle up his leg when he heard Obama speak. Worship of any candidate is unacceptable.

So you agree Carson should be vetted, good. Now for the consistancy check: Should Obama have been vetted as well, or only candidates you don't like?

There a many sources, but you guys never look up info you don't want to look up. Or when its provided right in front of you... Which is kind of sad.

Also the time frame does not matter, again in plain Englihs:"doesnt matter until the attack occurred" why would China declare anything before something causes them to do it, a 4 year old can figure out you need a reason to do something, nothing is magic.
