So, pass the buck you mean?

I suppose people's attitudes are that the planet will be stuffed at some stage and humanity well before it so why worry about something well and truly after we're gone. Yeah probably something in that!

We have no buck to pass. Nothing we do will have any substantial effect on the outcome and everyone acknowledges this. SO while we might support reductions for the sake of making us feel better as a society, or to give ourselves a leg up in negotiations with the real polluters, nothing we do will really have any impact.

    Does anybody deny this?

    ___________________________________

Personally I think the best way to get both sides of politics o board is to phrase it as a debate over pollution, not climate. Most conservatives I know hate pollution.

Did you intend to say something here? All I got was my post quoted.

    Cheers, SP.

Not signing onto geopolitical mass hysteria is actually a good thing. Anyone that believes the great barrier reef is dying is buying into a bunch of crap.

The older I get the more I have come to realize that you can fight nature. You can even win a battle against nature. But nature will always win the war. I know it sounds sappy...but it is true.

I have been looking into this as well. The reefs in question are 2300 km long or 1430 miles for we Americans. Imagine trying to evaluate the northern part which shows damage vs the rest which is much closer to Australia with next to no damage. Reefs have improved so man made runoff can't be the reason. And much of the damage is on the opposite side to Australia rather than on the side of the continent.

Add to this is the mystery of why the further north corals of the Coral Triangle are in outstanding health. The photos I posted proving this are beautiful.

I would also love to point out that it is the Australians so close to the Great Barrier Reef. Supposedly they are all jiggly over man made global warming so it looks to me as if we can put the entire blame on Australians if their crazy man made idea holds to be true.

You can't blame those north since their reefs (Coral Triangle) are outstanding. Check out how they keep their coral reefs pristine. Copy them Australians.

We Americans have hit on the solution to repairing our reefs off our east coast. Look into that when you get time.

The term climate denier is so darned lame.

Who on earth denies climate? For crying out loud, the USA has many many climates Each changes for various reasons. Australia has a good number of climates. How could they not change?

Good memories made just before death .... a lot of the atheists won't go with that. To them, death is lights out and memories not still there.

I like that. Solutions appeal to me that do not include me losing the right to own and operate a large car.

I learned something brand new today. This makes this day richer in knowledge. Thanks @scarlet witch

Have you got a link Robert? From what I recall coral was moving south due to waters becoming too warm North. If it's a natural occurance all good and well, there is not much that can be done!

Long term trends is the key. Not the odd warmer winter here or the colder summer there type stuff!

I keep telling you that the Coral Triangle is an area with very little research done on it. Just because you found ONE photo of a healthy patch of Reef does not mean the rest is healty

So what have we done to destroy our reefs? Are you going to assert again that we are blowing hot air over them?

There is almost 1430 miles of the reef. Better get into your car and get over there so you can get a boat there.
