No but I would think that regular law enforcement could handle it. Now if it got to be 10s of 1000s that would be a different story i guess. Heck, LE now had military weapons to use including TANKS! And sadly foreign troops and the UN.

Depends on who they're ordered to fire on and why.

If its a violent mob burning the city or nazis attempting a coup, then ya, the military wont hesitate.

If its grampa and cousin joe resisting gun confiscation, most of the military would prolly revolt.

When you get silly, you lose the gravitas you possess: just pointing that out. If the state can't handle a riot and requests federal assistance, you bet the feds can bust anyone's head or ass if they don't stand down when ordered to do so.

 

Just pretend this was still America. Don't states have rights? And is not the sheriff the most powerful man in the nation in his county?

If I am in charge of a federal LEO task force in the county, and the sheriff gets in the way, I will have him detained until we are done with our mission. You need to go back and read the Constitution. What you are suggesting was settled 152 years ago.

I think your wrong about the sheriff thing. I don't think that was ratified. It may have been ignored and illegally enforced but it was never changed. Actually neither was the states rights. Not that it matters anymore than feds taking land likk Oregon that is 85% owned by feds. And HarryReid and Hitlery have had a ball selling off land to China and Russia.
