Yes, there is genuine English wine.
Global warming makes it possible. :)

It may be pleasant and interesting to talk a bit about some of those wines.
Surely there are members in this forum, who enjoy a glass of a good wine sometimes? :)

    Since at least Roman times.
The Saxons also produced wine and the Normans really expanded viticulture in England.
It was the medieval cold snap (the Little Ice Age) between the 16th - 19th centuries that almost ended English wine production.
It has been on the up since the mid 20th century.

Now I see that Germany also has got 2 votes - together with some other countries.
May I recommend German Riesling and German Gewürztraminer. :)

Yes - it was the Romans who brought wine growing to Northern Europe. :)

Not from Europe, but our 'two go to's' are Yellow Tail Shiraz from Australia, a red and Barefoot Pinot Grigio from California. We go cheap.

Not many will have had wine from Luxembourg, I think.

I used to buy my "Elbling" at a filling station when I was in Luxembourg.

Thinking of this thread, I bought some wine today. But I had trouble deciding what sounded good, so I ended up just getting some Manischewitz Concord Grape Kosher wine made for passover. Its fkucing delicious! ...but its made in America.

    May I ask:
Do we only have two persons here who enjoy a good wine? :)

No interest in wine here - but always time to dish out idiotic warnings.

I like a nice robust red on ocassion. Strictly local though, or New Zealand in a pinch.
