Tyrants? Let me tell you something: School superintendents have their hands full already in keeping covid out of schools. My son's high school had ONE positive case in the lunchroom (on the first day of classes, mind you). One week later, 4 kids are positive and 100 are quarantined, my son included.

Do you think such a superintendent is going to play some silly games of a football mom refusing to wear a mask because of "tyranny"? She can throw her fit elsewhere, but when she is on school grounds, she is supposed to be a role model. The teenagers already have enough irresponsibility to go around, getting them to wear a mask is a nightmare. They don't need moms modeling bad behavior to them.

 

The rules established by the school were so that the game could come to be. It was for safety and the continuance of the enjoyment of liberty, not the subjugation of it. It isn't about philosophy. It's about what we usually do, our daily activities, combined with the presence of a viral pandemic. So we have to modify, adjust and adapt to move the ball forward. It's merely a temporary measure, like having to slow down when approaching road work or a Trooper by the side of the road. It is the law. And the law is common sense, which is no more a tyrant than the law of gravity.

 

Brings back memories of the TEA Party, the Bundy clan and the "grazing fees are tyranny" mantra. Such snowflakes...and deadbeats.

These people are lucky that they can go to high school football games. My son's football season was cancelled. If there are more idiots like this mom, their games will be cancelled too. Is that what she wants?

People just don't realize how their behavior affects others. I told my students (mostly sophomores and seniors in college) at the start of classes: The 100% best way to be back home in your parent's house within a couple of weeks is to go to parties. Is that what you want? because that's what you are going to get if cases go > 500 for the whole campus. The university WILL shut down (go online) again and send everyone home to quarantine. So far, after 4 weeks of classes, we have been lucky, but cases are on the rise.

A woman attending a school football game in Ohio was tased and arrested after she refused to put on a mask, the Logan Police Department said in a press release Thursday.

Video captured by another adult at the game shows the woman struggling with an officer on the metal bleachers as he tries to handcuff her. That's when he uses a taser on her, shocking onlookers.

The Logan Police Department said School Resource Officer Chris Smith was at 7th and 8th grade football games at Logan High School stadium on Wednesday, and that one of his duties was to ensure fans were safe and complying with health guidelines.

"One of these policy guidelines mandated by the Logan Hocking School District is that all spectators must wear a mask while on school property," the department's statement reads.

When Smith told a woman in the stands, later identified as Alecia D. Kitts, that she needed to put on a mask, she said she had asthma and was not going to put it on. The officer told Kitts "several times" that she needed to wear a mask, saying if she didn't, she would be asked to leave and wait outside the stadium, according to the police statement.

After Kitts continued to refuse, Smith said she would be escorted off the property and citied for trespassing.

Show you what? By the looks of the video, and according to the report, the video begins at the point he was trying to handcuff her, which would obviously be after he had informed her to leave or suffer the consequences.
