Women with Curves

So, Aussie's ladies apparel starts w/size 6? Do you have a petite section in your stores for women 5'3" and under? We do here, which is a life saver for people like me (and oldest daughter who's 5'1") who hates having to hem up jeans/slacks/hemlines.

Also, here, the pricier the store, the smaller our size is.... IOW's, if they feed the woman's ego, they'll get more $........

 

I haven't seen any size for women lower than a size six. Any smaller than that and you would be wearing childrens clothes!

 

I've seen women in all sizes, shapes and age wear crazy, sometimes obscene clothing......

 

Mutton done up as lamb? Nothing worse than a 50 yr old woman in tight jeans, skimpy top and knee high boots. Urgh.

 

I tend to like the female form in all it's variety. I just don't like the extremes. I don't care for the way anorexic or obese women look. If your hips/chest/rear are smaller than mine, take a hike... if I have to roll you in flour and pinch your nipples just to figure out where... well, you know.... take a hike!

 

A Google search turned up several hits (for dress size), stating that you add 2 to 4 from U.S. to Aussie.

U.S. size 6 equivalent to Aussie size 8/10.

Women who work out and are very muscly don't look muscly fully clothed though, they often just look good.

 

Women don't get very muscular naturally. I'm on a campaign to get more women lifting weights. Too many think they'll somehow bulk up. Women don't have the testosterone to naturally build large amounts of muscle. Most men have a very difficult time putting muscle on. Go to any gym and probably 90% of the men there wouldn't be considered muscular, even if they hit the gym several times a week. If these men, with 10 times the testosterone as women can't do it, then very very few women will even come close. It takes a very dedicated process of dieting, knowledgeable exercise, hardwork and time for even men to build muscle. You don't just accidentally gain muscle overnight and suddenly become bulky and unattractive....as many women seem to think.

 

Then why is a size 0 in the US a size 6 here?

 

Because that's the difference in apparel sizing b/t our countries?

 

I don't know Mak. I simply Googled it out of curiosity, and found several site/calculators. Some stated a numerical difference of two, while others suggested a difference of four.

 

Tough to talk about them starting at size 6 when our freezing temp is 32. To each his own. I'm sure the Chinese who make both countries clothes are more confused than any of us.
