    Yes, and . . . ? Whatever point you think you're making isn't important.

You did? I asked you specifically about the theory and you came back with information about natural oscillations.

Yes. The clear conclusion is that there must be far better understanding of recurring regional cyclical phenomena before proceeding to grand global hypotheses.

Not important to you, perhaps, because your mind is made up, but it shows you can operate a power grid in cold weather.

Texas did their infrastructure on the cheap.

The theory is in addition to natural oscillations.

Sorry, but the natural oscillations render the theory unnecessary. Occam's Razor sets it aside. The natural oscillations can explain everything without the theory.

Actually, that comparison is not new to me. Since a lot of right wing political marketing and fundraising uses the same tactics, and a lot of the same people, it’s not even implausible.

    There is no “debate’.

There is the continual barrage of right wing noise.

    And it’s pointless.

The cost of wind and solar are now lower than coal, gas or nuclear.

Moreover, it takes a much smaller investment to build wind, solar, gas and battery farms than any of the legacy fuels.

Battery farms would be the most effective and cheapest first step to solving Texas’ grid stability.

And that’s where the smart money has been going for about three years.

At first it was a trickle, but the torrent has steadily increased, as lower costs drive demand.

Briefly, the only reason solar and wind get a look-in is because solar panels and wind turbines are made using energy from coal at $0.04 per kWh and turn out power at $0.20 per kWh… …You can’t use solar and wind power to make solar and wind power equipment; as such they are neither renewable nor sustainable. And they certainly won’t be replacing fossil fuels when the fossil fuels run out. . . . . "

Die kalte Sonne Image: GWPF Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt was interviewed by the Hamburger Abendblatt on a new book he co-authored: “Unerwünschte Wahrheiten: Was Sie über den Klimawandel wissen sollten“ (Unwanted Truths: What You Have To Know About Climate Change). New Papers: Intermittent Wind Power PRESERVES & INCREASES Need For Fossil Fuel Energy Generation
By Kenneth Richard on 30. April 2018

⇑ Wind Power Installation Amplifies The Growth Of Fossil Fuel Energies “[A]s RES [renewable energy sources] increases, the expected decreasing tendency in the installed capacity of electricity generation from fossil fuels has not been found.” – Marques et al., 2018 In late 2012, a prophetic article appeared in the Los Angeles Times that warned: “As more […]

‘Cheap’ offshore wind power claims are false, data shows
    • Date: 19/02/21
    • Press Release, Global Warming Policy Foundation
Ministers and the media ‘must stop deceiving the public’ A new paper from the Global Warming Policy Foundation shows that the cost of offshore wind power is high and barely falling. GWPF is calling for ministers and officials to come clean with the public. Since 2017, renewables advocates have argued that offshore wind power is now […]

Yeah it can be done if you are little ole BC like we do with Nevada and Las Vegas and the Southwest with a BIG OLE river and a damn, BC gets 90% from hydro. I doubt the United States or just Texas could do that. Heck the environmentalist halt a dam because it might, just might have endangered a 1 inch long fish.

You just can't do that everywhere can you.

So elected officials aren't responsible. The people they hire are responsible. So what do the elected officials do? OH YES, I know, they take trips to Cancun.

The trump party has no longer has any concept of their fearless leaders taking responsibility for anything.

They fared better because their elected officials took responsibility and took action to prevent what happened in 2011 from happening again.

This isn't complicated except for trumpees.

Lucky for them! Obviously the last thing you want to do is to rely on Texan engineering.

    Yes, El Paso prepared.

Interesting that most of the area hurt by the historic winter storm were Trump states.

~ It's "global warming". It only changed to "climate change" when 97% if scientists agreed they can't predict the weather , climate, or the future.
Most of us here on planet earth appropriately call it "climate confusion" ...

What do the vast majority think? This sounds like another of those 'I found a scientist who says its unproven' but all the other scientists are saying 'its the most likely explanation'
Indeed as we know that rising warm air moves the Jet stream, it doesn't take a leap of faith to extrapolate more warm air moves the jet stream more.
