Washington (CNN)James Roche, one of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's freshman year roommates at Yale, said Wednesday that Kavanaugh lied under oath about his drinking and about the meaning of his yearbook entries.

In an op-ed for Slate, Roche writes, "Brett Kavanaugh stood up under oath and lied about his drinking and about the meaning of words in his yearbook. He did so baldly, without hesitation or reservation."

    Lying is cool.

    It's the Trump era.

I am now starting to wonder how this could play out. It seems that the Republicans in the Senate don't really care about his character.

If he lied under oath in his confirmation hearing, that should disqualify him (and, frankly, it would be grounds for charges of perjury and a prison sentence). If the Republicans don't care about this, or make any effort to investigate it, and confirm him anyway, it could possibly come back to bite them.

I can see a Democrat-controlled Senate (maybe not in 2018, but possibly in 2020) drilling down into this. If they feel he lied under oath, I can see him being impeached and removed. And replaced with someone nominated by a Democrat.

If I were a Republican in the Senate now, I would be asking the President to nominate someone with less baggage.

Well, when your own room-mate dumps on you, and calls you for for what you are, que sera sera. Ya see....this drinking thing is important because:

Ford says what she says. Bart O'Kavanaugh (the renowned barfer.....booze beach party organiser...total piss head in his final High School year and first year at Yale) says no, back in those days, I was always aware and never so drunk that I might do something like what Ford alleges.

    Nah.

I am not taking Ford's side, or per se anti Bart, (I have no dog in this fight) but I do not believe this SCOTUS nominee is anything but a liar before and to the Senate. Nah, not SCOTUS material, despite his alleged eminence as a Jurist. No blatant liars in SCOTUS, thanks.

Gee, so we just ignore the account of an eye witness. Does that work?

'Intemperate, Inflammatory And Partial': A Stunning 650+ Law Professors Urge Senate Not to Confirm Kavanaugh

Hundreds of legal scholars are warning the Senate that Brett Kavanaugh is unfit to sit on the Supreme Court.

As the groundswell of opposition to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh continues to grow, many of the vocal critics of his nomination are law professors.

In fact, in an open letter [3] published in The New York Times and set to be delivered to the Senate on Thursday, over 650 law professors — and counting — are urging the Senate to reject his confirmation, on the grounds that, regardless of his guilt or innocence in multiple allegations [4] of sexual assault, his response to the Senate inquiry was so inappropriate and unbecoming a judge as to be disqualifying.

Unfortunately GOP Senators are going to go against the party unless now there is credible evidence of wrong doing per the FBI investigation.

We both know that is not going to happen.

And this is only one of the many lies, he screwed himself with his over the top, holier then everyone" defense he tried to pull to impress trump.
If GOP has any brains left they nominate someone else.

Oh and I am not " a lefty" not everyone that doesnt share every opinion with you is "a lefty" .

    Teenage girl?

And yes her testimony was quite believable, mr fake outrage on the other hand wasnt really.

And it has shown plenty of lies have come to surface already . Let see if the GOP senators actually care if anyone lies into their faces and if they will reward him for it the put such a liar on the supreme court.

Un redact the testimony about this man.

He's gay and whilst drunk came on to Kavanaugh's roommate. His advances were rebuffed, hence the anger.

Dr. Prof. Ford told me so. Granted it was a hazy hypnotic state, but still...

Bill Clinton lied to the American people and purposely and willfully obstructed justice!

Diane Feinstein voted Not Guilty on both charges.

These are the absolute facts. We know that Bill Clinton lied to all of us and we know that he did everything to stop the investigation. Not only that, but he took advantage of a young lady in his position of power! Where is MeToo on that? Where were the Dems and the liberal American people when the correct thing to do was convict a man because there were facts supporting the charges?

All of that to say, this one moron saying Kavanaugh lied in his testimony has no corroboration, very much like Dr. Ford. There is no evidence to support these one offs. Moreover, there is actually more evidence to refute them than anything else. He MUST go forward and be confirmed.

You cannot demand an FBI Investigation; then, when it is complete and you don't like the outcome, demand it was not a good investigation! You agreed to the process on September 28, 2018 with the public watching.

Get over it people! If Kavanaugh is not confirmed this is proven to be an absolute political assassination by the Dems and possibly man more actors!

Oh the liberal outrage! So appropriate and still so wrong!

Not a single nominee has been put through what Judge Kavanaugh has in the history of this country! Death threats to him and to his family! The liberal left are simply disgusting people! We should give them all California, Oregon, and maybe Washington to start their own country!

Judge Kavanaugh's response was more appropriate than ever in this time of political war! He was not wrong in anything that he said. This is an attempt to politically assassinate Judge Kavanaugh when he did nothing wrong!

    LOL

So a San Francisco based IT CEO is a Trump hater. Gee, what a shock. No proof, but hey, in this era, where the New Democratic Party envisions the burning of the Constitution, an accusation is enough to execute a person.

You know, the Nation is watching. You really want to carve this principle in stone?
