The tax on fuel hits middle class as well, especially working class people. Macron backed off yet the protests are stl ongoing. The people do not want globalist liberal progs running things.

Who would have ever thought Donald Trump would become the President of the US?

Sounds like you have spent some time in France. Isn't their "work" week only 30 hours?

No, the mandated maximum time set by law is 35. The average is about 39 now but this 2013 data shows a comparison with other EU countries .

Hours spent working per week reflects the productivity rather than the work ethic.

Macron facing a crisis that he created by baiting Trump

A year and a half ago, he baited Trump, asking for a fight on climate change. And now he's got one – with his own populace

That was a pretty massive call. Hundreds of people laughed at her live on Real Time with Bill Maher. I tend to give her credit for the prediction, **** all other people did.

She's now very pissed at Trump and the GOP Congress for not passing the wall while they had the chance.

The unrest in France shows that even in a population with 80% in support of AGW, there can be considerable disagreements over what's implemented to mitigate it.

Indeed, 80% support the movement. 82% disapprove of Macron. Many of those marching are avowed socialists who, while wanting action to mitigate climate change, don't want fuel excise smashing the poor.

Gilets Jaunes is not a bunch of Trumpers. It's a strange coalition of people who usually hate each other uniting through their mutual hatred of Macron. If the right thinks you're a globalist shill, and the left thinks you're a bourgeois shill, who exactly do you have left?

Answer: anyone who works in the Parisian bureaucracy. 1 in 5 French are civil servants, mostly living in Paris. I don't think it's a coincidence that 1 in 5 approve of Macron.

L-O-L....open your eyes and look at your own link. Since when is burning properties not destroying things?? I'm guess it's ok to destroy properties as long as the people who are doing the destroying share the same ideology as you. Such hypocrisy.

And they would be so dense to beleive it’s no big deal. Just take subways and buses they wound say. Think of the money you would save:) Not realizing the vast majority of the country don’t have public transportation within walking distance. It takes me 3 minutes just to get to the gate of my community. Taxes would pay for all the extra buses and you wouldn’t need a car anymore. “TRUST US, we’d make it work.” Hehe

HIDE THE DECLINE: As French Protests Grow, Media’s Climate Focus Shrinks.

Putting this all together, as news coverage of the Paris protests has ramped up, discussion of the protests’ origins as a rejection of climate change taxes has rapidly faded. In part this may be due to the evolution of the protests into a broader rejection of the direction of French society and airing of grievances ranging from the economic divide to education reforms. At the same time, the timing of the rapid climate deemphasis as the protests have grown larger and more violent suggests media outlets are also not keen to draw negative scrutiny to environmental efforts. In the end, we are reminded that media outlets strongly shape our understanding of stories through the choices they make in framing them.

Other than the food they produce that everyone eats, what are farmers really good for?

TOUT CE QUI EST VIEUX EST NOUVEAU:

Macron’s Speech To Yellow Vest Protestors Channels Jimmy Carter’s Malaise Talk.

Though the American left have pretty much been in perma-malaise mode since Bobby Kennedy.

Your "identity" is a nazi redneck? Make no mistake, those statues are the heroes of a war to preserve white supremacy and chattel slavery, nothing else. I don't see how you can call yourself an American if you support that kind of ideology in any way

Do you think people buy your constant fake outrage? I'm just curious if you think people actually believe you. Answer honestly before I post something you mentioned earlier.

Wow...I must apologize to you. I have 3 tabs open in separate threads. I meant to respond with my comment (number 95) to someone else in a completely different thread. I actually have no idea how I ended up responding to you.

    Once again, my apologies.

There isn't a single landmark that Democrats can't spin is racist. The washington monument is racist because George Washington own slaves so is Mount Rushmore. Democrats would love to tear them down and there isn't a landmark I don't think they would miss.

The statues in question were never of Washington or anyone else on Mt. Rushmore. They are all of CONFEDERATE ARMY GENERALS traitorous officers of an Army that killed over 200,000 of their countrymen in a rebellion to establish chattel slavery of black people as the permanent backbone of a white supremacist oligarchy. A statue of Robert E. Lee is every bit as offensive to black Americans as a statue of Reinhard Heydrich would be to Jews in NYC, and if you think that's a false equivalency please tell me how they are all that dissimilar.

Those who erase their history are condemned to repeat it. ISIS goes around and destroys Buddhist statues for the same reasons.

You say that it is all about the Civil War statues but that is merely the beginning and you know it.

Our identity has little to do with people who left our country to preserve slavery and set racial supremacism as their ideological cornerstone.
