Obama's State Department is giving away seven strategic, resource-laden Alaskan islands to the Russians. Yes, to the Putin regime in the Kremlin. The seven islands in theArctic OceanandBering Seainclude one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabed's surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake. The State Department has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by Pres. Obama or Sec. Clinton. The agreement was negotiated in total secrecy! The State of Alaskawasnot allowed to participate in the negotiations, nor was the public given any opportunity for comment. This is despite the fact the AlaskaLegislature has passed resolutions of opposition - but the State Department doesn't seem to care. The imperiled Arctic Ocean islands include Wrangel, Bennett, Jeannette and Henrietta. Wrangel became American in 1881 with the landing of theU.S.Revenue Marine ship Thomas Corwin. The landing party included the famed naturalist John Muir. It is 3,000 square miles in size. Continued Comment: I remember hearing abou this, can we say Obama and his Admin are out of control yet. Just give parts of our states away to our enemies.
Looks like Obama's not gonna wait till after the reelection to sell America out.... I give it like a year, before Russia builds ICBM silos on em to circumvent our missile shield...
lol Paulistas are almost as gullible as regular conservatives A look at the map will give the reader some notion of the frozen “Alaskan” islands under discussion. All are far closer to the Russian mainland than to the Alaskan mainland. All lie on the Russian side of the U.S.-Russia maritime boundary set by a treaty that the U.S. Senate ratified overwhelmingly more than two decades ago, after being signed by President George H.W. Bush, and with the support of both of Alaska’s senators. http://www.factcheck.org/2012/03/alaskan-island-giveaway/
Why would they need to? Our missile shield can only stop 30 missiles. If they shoot 31, they've circumvented it.
Our missile shield can't stop (*)(*)(*)(*). The major problem: they fail to mention the idea of "multiple warheads" and other countermeasures.
Missile defense is really directed towards North Korea, Iran, and China. It only creates some uncertainty for Russia. _
I lived in Putin's Russia and we are the last thing on their radar. China is their biggest worry. We're kinda a joke to him and the rest of Russia thanks to W always sounding like a moron.
Guaranteed, that if this was big news, that Alaskans would be up in arms over it. If anything that is pissing me off over this, it's that Obama will take credit for something that George H.W. Bush approved over 20 years ago under the guise of "improving diplomatic relations with Putin".
We are trading those islands for all of Siberia. http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/42042/siberia-to-become-part-of-u-s-2/
Look up the thread from a couple weeks ago where I schooled Grok on this topic. There are 4 interceptor silos in California and 26 in Alaska. Each holds 1 interceptor missile and each missile holds 1 kinetic kill vehicle. Therefore they can only take out 30 warheads.
