Russia has not offered Greece to become a member of the New Development Bank that is being created by the BRICS group of five major emerging nations, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Thursday.

"We have not offered (membership to Greece)," Siluanov told journalists.

there has been talk that BRICS offered membership to Greece. This is of course not the case. Greece was not offered membership, and no such offer is expected. Contrary to other rumors.

They won't post in this thread because it has no BS propaganda value. So far their Big Giant BRIC Thing isn't large enough to even threaten the western nations' dog food industry, and never will be, but they're vested in the fantasy that it's going to Bring Down Da Evul Empire, apparently something which only the U.S. has and nobody else does.

My bet is most of the BRIC money gets stolen, like every other pile of cash ever left around in Russia has disappeared; the billions in emergency aid given them to bail out their economy when the Ruble collapsed in the '90's is a good indication of what will happen to the BRICS scam.

My American friend, I congratulate you on the national holiday of July 4th. On this day in 1776 the separatist leaders and the real slaveholders signed the declaration about independence of the United States.
We all know the reason - the UK Parliament in 1764 issued the "Law on the currency." The Act prohibits the administration of the American colonies issue their own, unsecured and unmonitored print money and ordered them to continue paying all taxes in gold and silver coins.
But the fight for the wallets of the rich, American people did not want to, so was invented the myth about independence.
By the way, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, both participated in the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and later became president of the United States and died at one day: July 4.... James Monroe, the fifth president of the United States, also died July 4, 1831.
Therefore, for many it is not clear - that is celebrated in the US on July 4? Independence Day or funeral for the dead presidents.

First of all, Greece can't become a member of NDB because it hasn't been created yet. And if that is their official website it doesn't look good.

It was not as simplistic as that, the law on the currency. America, a group of her rich intellectuals, came up with a novel idea, or rather were aware of what ancient Greece had, the land that birthed western philosophical thought, and wanted to create a nation, that had no dictator or monarch. So there was quite a mixture of things involved in our war of independence, including taxation without representation, and our elites were tired of being held hostage for wealth produced here, by the work of the inhabitants of America. All colonial nations eventually had their war of independence. It was a natural progression, but many replaced a tyranny with another tyranny as we see in Latin America.

The main difference between north America and south and central America, lies in who those Europeans were. Ours were English, theirs primarily Spanish. And this made a difference in the social structure and gov't.

Having read that authorization for a loan requires a vote in agreement by simple majority (Three of the member countries at present) so Russia by it's self does not have the authority to give Greece or any other country a BRICS bank loan.

    thank you.

now Russia needs to accept the great independence of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and congratulate them on their freedom from tyranny.

And would that make you dislike Russia or Russians even one bit less? Somehow I doubt it.

It is later. When they become part of Russia. Now the Baltic countries are under occupation. So congratulate them on Independence Day - it's a joke.

The American Revolution was a very difficult war with ill trained Colonists fighting Battle Tested and Hardened British Forces.

We won and when people in the U.K. were questioned in a large Survey as to which Enemy General or Leader was Britains most difficut opponent the overwealming choice was....GEORGE WASHINGTON.

Posssibly the single most important document ever written is the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

BRICS is a very small Economic Orginization with very little economic power to do much of anything.

Brazil had a chance and it blew it!!

The EU is several times smaller population wise & there is no guarantee the EU will retain all of it's current members.

Fred.....China has close to 1.7 Billion People as they under report their population by about 300 Million to get the U.N. Poverty and Famine Committee off their A$$!!!

China has a Population of 1.7 Billion Peole generating a $6 Trillion Economy.

The United States has over 300 Million People generating a $17.7 Trillion Economy.

    THINK ABOUT THAT!!!

China with about 6 Times the Population of the U.S. has an Economy that generates only 1/3rd the GDP of the U.S.

    Population does not matter.

What matters is a highly trained and educated work force and a massive Manufacturing Base with cheap energy costs.

    The U.S. is....
    #1 Manufacturer in the World.
    #1 Economy in the world.
    #1 Military in the World.
#1 Donator of Food and Medicine and Aid in the world.
#1 Consumer Nation in the world.
#1 American Worker most Productive of all Nations in the World.
#1 Higher Education System in the World.
#1 Nobel Prise Winners in the World.
#1 Developers of New Technologies that develop New Markets such as PC's, Smart Phones, Quantum Computers,
    #1 Copied Culture in World.

The list goes on and on.

I have been to China several times and the Chinese spend their money on Urban Areas but not the rural areas where famine and disease are rampant.

There are more Doctors per person in the U.S. than in any other Nation.

I think another poster recently mentioned the real US population was 420 million including illegals.
The US national debt is over $18 trillion while China runs a surplus. A fair exchange rate that would enable a level playing field would show a much higher Chinese GDP.

Last I heard Cuba had the most doctors per person.

The thing you seem to have missed is that for China to help Russia develop oil fields it does not need to be the US, it only needs to be good enough. If China can send a man into space on it's own rockets it also has the "ability" to develop any other technology over time.

The issue is not the Russian Peoples abilities.

The issue is Putin and his Buddies selling out his own nation!!!

That is your opinion, my opinion is that Putin has done everything within his ability to rebuild Russia & make it prosperous again & so far I have seen no evidence to the contrary so we may have to agree to disagree.

Not sure who "them" are, but if you are referring to the central-banker oligopoly, remember they never come right out front with any initiative. They always stay in the background and let their stooge "governments" do the "Kabuki dances"....

That said, remember that this, like so many others on the international scene, is a chess game. Putin is a master chess-player, and right now he is letting the other player make more mistakes while it is the bankers' turn. Putin will make his move after they've made theirs. As for Greece? We should find out that they have narrowly approved taking a deal from the ECB/Fed/IMF after all! And, we'll all say that we're surprised.... :roflol:. BTW, you know who's going to be pissed, no matter what happens? The Germans!

Hint: the ECB/IMF/EU has already suffered two defeats by: 1. failing to grab all of Ukraine after installing a puppet government last year in Kiev (after deposing the legitimately-elected president) 2. failing to destroy the Russian economy by manipulating currencies and commodities markets to crash Russia's energy-based economy.

The central bankers don't care about the piddling Greek "debt"... no, what they are fighting to keep is their smothering, all-consuming economic control over all the countries in the EU, and as many more as they can seduce or subjugate, world-wide....

I'll admit it when I'm wrong, and I was definitely wrong about this Greek vote. I still don't know how or why the central banks are going to let the Greeks slip between their fingers, especially so soon after they stepped on their dicks in Ukraine. Hmmmm. Well, the "fat lady" hasn't sung just yet, as they say at the opera. Next move is up to the European Central Bank and the IMF. Like I said, the Germans won't be happy either way, and the only clear, consistent thing we've seen out of Germany's business community for the last sixteen months is that they favor a better, less-hostile working relationship with Russia. This could get very interesting....

[IMG] ... and the "fat lady" sings in German!

From what I read, the Brics economy will surpass the EU in two years, even if the EU still exists in its present form...which I doubt. I had bad vibes about it, ever since Merkel went along with Washington's lies about Ukraine... to the detriment of Germany.

Technologically Russia is more advanced than China. The one thing Kerry feared when he saw Xi with Putin and decided to go to Socchi, was that he might give China some of Russia's military high tech...which as yet China does not have.

The only thing Russia didn't have was the means to extract oil in the Artic, but necessity can produce some very fast results...this is why I used the past tense.
