http://ktul.com/news/local/wagoner-...tigating-triple-homicide-in-broken-arrow-area This is a sad story because the 23 year old who shot these intruders has to deal with it. We can all cheer good job but taking human life is never frivolous. The ability to protect our home and hearth is not a right to be taken lightly.
It is however better to hear of a live victor rather than a dead victim. Most times the police arrive too late.
I agree. I think, masked men with knife and knuckles breaking into home during a time where often all you have is a stay at home mother???? Bad thing to think about.
Shall we look at some headlines of a six year old that shot his brother because dad left his gun lying around?
This is all you have? A tragic story that fails to address the OPs comments. You anti-gunners have some serious issues with fact!
you might want to think that through. we already have far too many people in prison. You want to punish women who say do stuff that results in the UNINTENTIONAL harm to their children? Hint-gunshot injuries are way way behind stuff like drowning in tubs, killed while riding bicycles, etc
I think anyone that has had to defend themselves would agree. It is something I'd rather not have had to do and hope I never have to do again. I know few gun owners that are don't take gun ownership seriously.
the really sad thing is that facts about crime control is worthless when debating the avid members of the BM movement because they only pretend that public safety or crime control is what motivates them. It doesn't but they have to pretend it does because if they admitted their real goals are to harass and hassle people for voting for conservative pro gun candidates, the public would reject them. However, citing facts that destroy the FACADE they throw up is unconvincing to them because they don't believe the pretext they proffer for their real reasons
There aren't as many. Honestly...the headlines in my area of people successfully protecting themselves out numbers accidental gun deaths many times over.
An accidental gun death in most first world countries makes headline news because it is so rare. Here it is page 6
No it shouldn't be taken lightly, but if it is necessary, it must be done. The long term residual effects of being victimized are often much worse than the residual effects of a violent encounter where you legitimately defend yourself or others.
