    Anytime someone is unlawfully inside your home they deserved to get shot.

    Whether they die or not is up to God.

    If He wants to give them another chance He can.

    Im not fond of the idea of killing someone to protect my tv and jewelry. Human life is more precious than that.

    But if folks break in here, im sure as hell not gonna bank on the assumption that they just want my stuff. I dont think they deserve to die for theft, but i sure as hell dont deserve to die for caution either.

    I'd do just what happened in OP article- empty the mag.

    Exactly. You have no idea what they plan to do, and thus you have a reasonable fear.
    Further, as soon as they threaten you as they steal your TV -- say, pull a knife and tell you to back off - they have threatened your life and you have the right to act in self-defense.
