Sorry I was wrong---there are at least 347 million guns in America. And how many accidental gun injuries are there a year from kids being around a good percentage of these weapons a year????
America is awesome because we have the 2nd Amendment. However, if violent Liberal/Democrat thugzones were excluded---then America would be no more violent then the Westernized parts of Europe.
Black and Hispanic men, to be exact commit crimes way out of proportion to their numbers. Young Black men are about 1% of the population, yet commit 25% of the murders in the US. If you are so into statistics, then you'd know crime in America is a demographics problem----not a gun problem.
So as you may have guessed, guns are as safe as the people who use them. Modern guns are very safe and reliable. Virtually every one can be dropped from the top of the Empire State Building loaded, and not go off when they hit the ground.

Anthrax is a natural pathogen. A gun is a tool made by man. Like any such tool, they can be dangerous to handle: chainsaws, sharp knives, dirt bikes, giant cranes, steamrollers. None should require a licence. You run over someone with steamroller to murder them---you get the same penalty as using a gun to murder them.
