The dumbing down of Mexifornia continues.

Mexifornia comes in 31st place with respect to graduation rate.

That means 30 other states have a higher graduation rate than Mexifornia.

Red states like Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, Missouri, West Virginia, Kansas, etc. have a higher graduation rate than Mexifornia.

So, instead of improving the student's skill set and knowledge, Mexifornia decides to scrap the high school exit exam.

That sure will improve their graduation rate.

This is an admission that California's schools just move meat from one grade to another and off into the world you go. A teacher could pass a student who never comes to class or needs to get good grades to remain on the football team, but that would not help with an exit exam. This dumb law protects the schools, teachers and almost certainly minorities who we already know can't pass them. Best yet, it would appear the students aren't capable of critical thinking or rote learning.

What's next, banning the Bar exam?

Every day in every way California goes a little farther over the cliff. It will be interesting to see what has become of the state in twenty years. My guess is it will look more like Mexico than America or possibly even Cuba.

Looks like times are getting desperate to dumb down as many kids as possible to get them ready for the 2024 election. Problem is, the dumbing down is coming full circle. California already votes overwhelmingly democrat so their genius idea is pointless.

Speaking of secession, I notice California and Moon beam brown are not turning their noses up at Trump's disaster declaration over the Nampa fires and the federal money that comes with it.

Does Trump actually care if California burns up? Or is the NFL still more important to him & his supporters?

Exams aren't a good way of assessing learning.

I took it in 2005 and it was an absolute joke. If you couldn't pass that test you truly did not deserve to have a high school diploma, because it was a testament that you were functionally illiterate and lacked the most basic grasp of elementary mathematics.

Anyone who underestimates the importance of rote learning is an A-grade fool.

Spend 5 minutes researching the techniques used to produce high achievers. It's pretty much all rote.

They are, however, an excellent way of assessing your ability to recall what you've learned, under pressure.

Many of the kids graduating from High School in California are not fluent in English, which is why their scores are horrible. Instead of holding them back until they acquire the proper grasp of English, they simply lower the bar and allow them to graduate. Otherwise, racism.

Yes, you may be unfamiliar with them in New Hampshire, but Hispanics from Mexico primarily are the majority in California.

I dropped out because I failed English my senior year-the final was a 500 point assignment that consisted of a 450 point "study assignment" and a 50 point test-and didn't see the point in not taking a decent job to spend the summer getting a truly worthless piece of paper.

Right. Medical schools should eliminate exams. Everyone who wants to be an M.D. should be one.

    From FEMA regarding that.

"FEMA spokeswoman Rachel Racusen told us that the administration has provided Texas with 27 fire management grants to fund many of the same emergency response activities Perry sought assistance for. The grants covered 75 percent of the firefighting costs associated with the 27 fires, which burned about 1 million acres in 31 counties, and the state expects to be reimbursed about $23 million as a result, Forest Service spokeswoman April Saginor told us."

Trump should make Gov Brown crawl up to him to get the money.

In fact, this is where the right wing goes right off the rails. They claim facts but have no understanding.
