Trump says Jerusalem is the capital of Israel

Gee, Kapitan Kaos strikes again!

What could possibly go wrong!

 

Israel became a recognized state in 1948 and has been under constant attack for 69 years. Add to this that more and more states are becoming anti-semitic. I'm not a fan of Trump, but this announcement is sure to stir things up. Maybe some good will come from it. Maybe nothing will change. We'll see.

On the other hand those people wouldn't die if Trump didn't make this disastrous decision that is opposed by every other national leader on the planet, including the leaders of nations in the Middle East. Trump is being extremely presumptuous by assuming authority over the region. That alone could prove a be a danger to our national security and American lives.

Let's just say it is highly controversial. Trump should have kept his big nose out of it. He did this to keep a promise to his base, a promise that should not have been made. I can't think of anything more ridiculous. This decision proves his incompetence.

Al-Qaeda says Trump's Jerusalem decision ‘clear challenge to Muslim world’

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has condemned Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. It also urged militants to be ready to support the Palestinians.

The Yemeni-based Islamist militant group said Trump's decision was the result of what it called "normalization steps" between some Gulf Arab countries and Israel. It also reinforced its support for the Palestinian cause, calling the recent step by Washington “a clear challenge to the Muslim world.” AQAP’s statement was carried by the US SITE monitoring group.

The group went on to urge its militants to be ready to support the Palestinians, and appealed to Muslims to help with money and weapons, Reuters reported. It said if no action is taken, holy Muslim sites, including the Kabah in Mecca, "will be sold" and left without anyone to defend it.

This is just the beginning. All of this is a result of Trump's decision and it is only going to get worse.

Robert, you are confused. I have not defended the Palestinians. I have not defended Israel, for that matter. I am not talking about Israel's decision regarding its capital. Review my article. I am talking about Trump's decision and its consequences.

America has nothing to do with it. Trump made the decision, and the vast majority of Americans disagree. Of course, only his base agrees with him, but that means nothing. If Trump had murdered Mother Theresa, his base would stick with him.

All Trump took care of is we finally do recognize the capital city is Jerusalem. Fact is, the FBI world fact book has long recognized it as Jerusalem. The Palestinians have lost their minds. They were not defined as a country until 1988. Israel beat them to the punch when it comes to picking capitals. As you wisely tell us, the Palestinians are the worst sort of A holes because as you admit, they are violent people. This is the first move toward peace by any US President. Once the Palestinians know that Jerusalem will never be theirs, they can begin to negotiate for real and peace has a chance, with them still demanding Jerusalem there is no chance for peace
