That is hilarious since the students who were shot at Kent State were shot by members of the Ohio National Guard.

Pathetic. Having a gun makes you a strong person. That is the same crap that has been pushed to losers for years. People of strong character are strong whether or not they have a gun. And a gun in the hands of a weak person doesn't make them of strong character.

And if you watch the response of parts of our society to Trump's attempt to destroy the free press and the FBI and Nationsl Security Agency you would not think you are so safe from a future tyranny in America. Funny thing though is a lot of the people pretending guns will save us from tyranny are the same ones who support Trump's actions.

Having a gun does not make you a strong person, and I didn't say that. However strong people are willing to defend themselves, and that often means they do have weapons, and will use them prudently if necessary. It is the will and ability that matters- a weapon is of no use to someone lacking the courage to use it properly, and such people should know better than to play with things that can be dangerous if used improperly. Many people do not; that is why we have warning labels on things like hair dryers telling people not to use them in the shower....

Owning a gun does not make you strong, or prudent, or give you character, nor the wisdom of experience. People who are strong have usually acquired those things by facing life, dealing with reality, accepting responsibility and defending liberty- rather than blaming others for not giving them what they think they deserve. Those people usually call such ideas crap, and that is why they remain losers; too smart to learn otherwise. Nothing you can do to help such people until they are open to change, and often they die before that happens.

There is nothing "hilarious" about the shooting of students and I find it bizarre that you find it amusing on any level.

I am well aware that the students at Kent State were shot by inexperienced members of the Ohio National Guard who have to live with that burden for the rest of their lives.

I was simply debunking your notion that active duty US Military would fire on fellow Americans based on my experience and the sentiments of those who also serve & have served.

You should learn a little more about the people who serve in distant hellholes while you work to eviscerate our Constitutional rights.

This is true. Gun control has more to do with people control then gun control. Weak people want everyone just as helpless as they are instead of learning how to defend themselves.

That would make since if the colonists had not had weapons equivalent to the British. That is in no way true of American civilian arms compared to the weaponry of the military.

The statement was hilarious, not the shooting of the students. And you have in no way debunked the fact that active military would fire on civilians. The US military deliberatly killed civilians in Vietnam, Nagasaki, Hiroshima, and Dresden. And then of course there was America's civil war and the near extermination of the Indians.

In a thread about guns the meaning of your post was obvious.

Yes, the US Military has killed countless civilians in various wars as has almost every nation's military.
However, you were asserting that members of the US Military would fire on US civilians in an attempt to enforce some sort of draconian gun ban.
Both my experience in the US Military and my discussions with current active duty US Military members reveal that few members of America's military would fire on American civilians to enforce some sort of unconstitutional gun ban.

Not to you; as you invariably distort what you read in anything I post.
This is part of the incredibly vacuous logic of the left- the inability to connect events and responsibility, coupled with the willingness to abuse anybody that points out the faults of their perspective. The only other place in life where you see this kind of behavior is in Eric Cartman on South Park.

So you think we shouldn't even try if our government should turn tyrannical? You think that if we have no chance to take back a government gone bad that you would have all our weapons removed. My little pistol may not match those of the military but with it I can obtain a better weapon from the opposition and with that I can upgrade even further. This is why those on the left don't want any of us to own guns so that they can better control us with little or no opposition.

How does the high capacity magazine turn regular firearms into fully automatic weapons?

So it is so important to you to have the right to your own gun, because it could be that your democratically elected government and president will become a tyrant and then you have to defend yourself?

Very interesting how much trust you have in your own system and tools of system control. And you want to be the perfect democracy, as is so often claimed, with all the fears of future US governments why you need to arm yourself as a precautionary measure? Ridiculous!

It should be clear by now that the anti-gun left has no clue as to what it is talking about.

Lots of unreality here! Hope you never have to try and take weapons from the military using your little pop gun.

And saying the left doesn't wany any of you ( whoever you is ) to own guns is nonsense. Most of the left and responsible people just want better background checks and serious attempts to keep guns out of the hands of those who are not responsible enough to own them.

As for reality the military is comprised of humans not supermen.

There are a lot on the left who want to remove all guns from civilians and are working on the inside of the movement by promoting the idea that they only want better background checks and better methods of keeping guns out of people's hands who shouldn't have them. They are patient and are working on little changes to bring about the big changes. Many changes suggested are very slippery slopes which if enacted would over time would erode our constitutional rights and I am not just talking about the 2nd amendment other will come under attack as well.
