That's not at all what I said.

In the end, it's really a moral question.

Sure, you can do financial gymnastics to avoid paying any taxes - but it means you are NOT paying a share to maintain our military. You are claiming "bone spurs" for your tax returns.

    OK
    Now answer the question
The investigation needs to be who released highly private personal tax information which is protect by federal law. You support criminal behavior? Don't support the right to privacy?

Or are you saying that if you pay such a compensation to settle a civil suit you lose all you rights to privacy?

Trump himself complained that Obama wasn't paying enough....

No G20 country is doing worse than the US in terms of the disparity between rich and poor.

This disparity became more pronounced under Trump, even when the economy was doing well.

As a Canadian, I know very well what the solutions to this would be, but in the parallel universe you live in, it's called socialism...

Do you take all the deductions and credits allowed to you on your tax return? Do you pay more than you actually owe?

Let’s found out together. He should release his returns.

It is terrifying that someone with so many overseas investments and loans could be president without full disclosure. And horrifying that so many of his supporters don’t care.

I thought he divested? How’d he make so much as president?

Those in the years he is President and does not take a salary and he divested himself of Trump Org. As noted the IRS has/is audited his returns, have they charged him with tax fraud? Do you take all the deductions and credits allowed to you on your tax return? Imagine how much he was deducting in state a local taxes including real estate taxes but he and the Republicans eliminated the majority of that, did you support that? The Democrats including Biden want to give him back that deduction, do you support that?

If he divested how did he make 434 million in 2018?

So you are making all these allegations without knowing the facts and no I will not join in because I don't care as long as he is properly claiming all the deductions and credits allowed.

Do YOU take all your deductions and credits or do you pay more than you owe? Do you support the Democrats and Biden wanting to give Trump more deductions?

You keep claiming he divested and that’s 100% false. Why do you keep claiming it?

I support the right to privacy.

But the crime is far less serious that the benefits of exposing POTUS' lies to the American people.

Without whistleblower, Nixon would have served two terms, Reagan would have continued to sell drugs to finance the Contras, and everyone would still believe today that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

For 5 years now, Trump has been making people believe that he is under audit by the IRS.

It's high time the truth about his financial crimes came out.

"The Times calculates that between 2004 and 2018, Mr. Trump made a combined $427.4 million"
    https://dnyuz.com/2020/09/27/18-revelations-from-a-trove-of-trump-tax-records/

    That's 14 years.............................

"Incidentally, the rules on loss-carrying have gone back and forth a lot recently. Obama’s stimulus law extended the “carryback” period, allowing Trump to attempt this at the time he did; the recent GOP tax bill eliminated the ability to carry losses backward in time for a refund of past taxes (while removing the 20-year limit on carrying losses forward); and then the CARES Act brought carrybacks back for the 2018–2020 tax years to inject some money into businesses during COVID."

His financial disclosure from 2018 says he made over 400 million from Trump org properties. He did NOT divest!
And based on The NY Times, he lied about his income anyway lol

Ny times also seems to have exposed his financial disclosures as being complete BS. Thanks @Bluesguy for pointing that out.

So get the tax laws changed if you don't like them. Who says he doesn't pay property taxes? Like Buffet, very little of Trump's income comes through employee income, it is investment income, so why is the NYT talking about income taxes?

No it's a VERY serious FELONY to expose someone else's tax returns PERIOD. There should be an investigation and if the NYT in anyway enticed or encourage or paid for they should also be charged you have NO right to this information no matter who it comes and you can't justify it. And from what I have been able to read in the article it says his returns are under audit.

So should we have a DOJ investigation into how this federally protect private information was obtained? If you do not agree then don't ever claim to support the right to privacy.

The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom half pay very little, they are freeloading.

It's sad, but not surprising, that millions of Americans will buy the rubbish "news" that NYT is trying to sell.

The education system has clearly failed us.
