The Dodgers have disinvited a LGBTQIA+ group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to the team's annual Pride Night after opposition from conservative Catholic groups. The charity, protest and performance group was to have received the team's Community Hero Award in a ceremony during the 10th annual event before the June 16 game against the San Francisco Giants. On Thursday, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence said the group wasn't anti-Catholic, and its members were offended and outraged by the Dodgers' decision. More at link ====================================================================== Good call Dodgers. Can't think of any public format that cross dressing "nuns" would be appropriate. Funny how a group dedicated to mocking another group views themselves as "loving" and anti-bigotry. Dodgers knocked them outta there park (pun intended).
It was a bad call for the dodgers to have ever invited them because now that they were invited and then disinvited, now both the Conservatives and the alphabet people are ticked off that them.
That's funny, cross dressing nuns sounds like it'd make the perfect episode of a buddy cop TV series like 21 Jump Street. Wasted opportunity there
I really don’t care I think their religion is just as absurd as yours is Do you have anything to add to the topic about a sports team canceling a charity over concerns from an organization that promotes and protects pedophiles?
Yes. Disinviting people mocking religion is a wise decision. Speaking of religions that promote pedophilia, do you know the age of muhammads wife?
So because a large worldwide Church has some incidences of pedophilia within its ranks you think this makes the entire organization " promote and protect pedophiles " ? Do you apply your same standard of logic to the public school system?
The real problem for the Dodgers with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence inclusion is mostly about optics. There will be kids there, and it will make too many of their fans uncomfortable to see those men dressed as nuns around young minors both because of the cross dressing itself and because it looks like they endorse herasy. Thinking people realize that we should worry a lot more about those kids hanging around a catholic priest, than we should about them seeing these nuns.
I would completely support shutting down and removing all individuals associated with a school that hid pedophiles along with massive fines. Do you agree the same should be applied to churches? Personally I think any organization that needs child rape insurance shouldn’t exist but I know the magical sky daddy needs his worship.
It appears as though you have mistaken me for a Catholic. Not even magic sky daddy says that men can magically become women so that must be a very magical sky Daddy.
As soon as it is on topic, absolutely Until then I will write everything off as defending child predators
As soon as you get back on topic I'll be happy to answer your question. Until then I think your own post should be applied to your answers
That’s strange, the statement from the OP states: after opposition from conservative Catholic groups. Do you have a source showing your statement is accurate or is it just your opinion?
I'm not your bud but that does bring up an interesting point.... Kids don't seek out drag queen shows but for some reason drag queens certainly do seek out audiences of children. I don't like pedophiles of any stripe no matter what organization they belong to. Speaking of schools..... Did you see all of the recent sexual offenses in the public school systems?
I'm sorry if you can't think of drag queens without thinking about ****ing them, but not all of us have that problem. How many kids have actually been assaulted be drag queens, by the way?
Since this was Pride Night, I'm assuming this event was specifically about honoring the LGBTQIA+ community. To disinvite such a group for an event that was specifically about them is the height of rudeness and dishonor. Something tells me that the Dodgers are going to face heat for this. Since the group protesting was religious Catholics, and everyone knows that the religious types are far too serious and need to lighten up, this doesn't dispel the myth that the LGBT+ community is discriminated against.
