4Chan Claims To Have Fabricated Anti-Trump Report As A Hoax

A Twitter account who has taken credit for the alleged hoax claims the fan fiction was inspired by Wilson's son, who apparently has some kind of urine fetish. They sent the work-up around to a bunch of journalists, which got passed on to Steele somehow. And seeing as how his dossier contains a demonstrably false assertion concerning Cohen having visited Prague, it's possible that other pieces of fiction could have made their way into it. I'm still waiting for proof, obviously, but you never know.

 

The people on 4Chan are not claiming to have authored the entire report, just the part about Trump being filmed at a Russian hotel partaking in a golden shower. Somehow, they claim, it ended up in Steele's opposition research after they sent this story to a bunch of journalists.

The "people at 4Chan" are making no such claim. 4Chan is an anonymous bulletin board. Everyone is anonymous and no one is in charge.

No, "the people on 4chan" didn't do anything. It was one user who made the claim without any specifics. There is zero evidence that the story was created by 4chan. I could claim that I created the story right now...doesn't mean anything.

Hell, I can show you a bunch of posts from 4chan speculating that that user is a Russian operative or a Trump employed troll...but just because some anonymous user on 4chan says something doesn't make it true.

 

I guess we'll see. I don't presume to know.

In any case, the individual on the Twitter account claims he made up the part about the golden shower, passed it along to a bunch of journalists, and it ended up in Steele's opposition research. I have no idea if what he says is true or not. I'm just telling you what I found out after doing some research.

I have no problem with his posts. His link was relevant to the topic and he didn't present them as fireproof evidence that should be given any significant credibility.

 

BuzzFeed was able to verify they included "clear errors".

I definitely like him a great deal more than when I voted for Cruz during the primaries, but anything more than that is going to have to wait until we see how he performs as the president. Let's see what he can, will, and does do once he actually has the power. So far, however, so good!
