I totally agree. I'm an electrical engineer by education but I went to college so long ago that most of what I learned was analog, not digital. Through the years I have worked alongside some amazingly smart guys that kept me current. I still needed to get a Masters degree. And, eventually, I assumed the role of a manager of engineers, providing them with concepts, plans, schedules and resources they needed since my skills to do the stubby pencil work slowly became obsolete. As technology increases by leaps and bounds, it will get more and more difficult. Some jobs will disappear as tech allows tasks to be accomplished more easily. As an example, one software guru friend of mine told me he advised his son not to get into writing code, since tools utilizing "pull down menus" will be available that will make writing code obsolete.

Tech will change everything. Anything that has a blueprint can be digitized, meaning robots will eventually accomplish tasks like carpentry, masonry, electrician work, etc.

Extensive education and training will soon be required for the most rudimentary jobs. Personally, I like that.

The government killed them and stole their land, too.
It presupposes reparations are a good idea.
Women were wronged. How about them? Chinese? Japanese? Blacks? Latinos?
    The CPC are maggots.
You assume your post/text is being "edited" if I only cite what I'm addressing. I think linking back to your entire post is sufficient.

Makes sense. Technical jobs often require constant learning, something that makes it problematic for hiring STEM teachers to teach what are rudimentary skills. I'd like to see industry people brought in to teach skills part-time or for a couple of years.

We should focus on foundational skills in K-12--mathematics, physics, computer studies, technical writing, etc.
I still have a drafting machine and a big circular rule. :) My wife says they're clutter.
Pretty much the advice I gave my 15-year-old grandson just the other day.

I don't think most people have any idea how much our society will change in a few decades as a result of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and high speed wireless.
Very true. Few jobs are safe. Computers catch more lung cancers than radiologists.
Great for smart, educated folks. Not so good for a society where people feel entitled because they live in the United States.

The US government are maggots, because they did the same without regret to the victims who still are alive.

While you can't be bothered to comment how similar the US was with any remorse to it's native americans vs how China does its thing with the Uyghurs.

Europeans and then Americans after 1776 pushed Native Americans out of the way over centuries. Aboriginals who fought back were killed or marginalized. I see no reason to compare Uyghurs to Native Americans.

I keep offering we should help Americans who need help, not spend time on who did what to whom.

If we emphasize helping people--not taking care of them, btw--everyone will be better off.
