Because through no fault of their own they have been given life and are deserving of a chance to become one of the universe's children. To commit abortion is one of the highest forms of child abuse and deprives the child to the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To commit abortion is a selfish act as the mother is putting her feelings and her well being and denying the child's feelings be aloud.

There were far fewer abortions before Roe v Wade and fewer unwanted children so that kills that argument. Now even with abortion on demand there has been an explosion of children in the custody of the state because their value has been severely diminished. A lot of stupid things came out of the 20th century Abortion and Welfare should never have been allowed evolve. When the state allows stupidity it increases exponentially.
