Further dialogue, by politician Peter Bradford, lashes out at apathetic U.S. attitudes:
"Damn, I'm so tired of this "I'm an American" bull! Where was all that patriotism when it counted? Where was that willingness to sacrifice? Nobody wanted to join the damn army to defend the country unless they got paid well! Nobody wanted to give any time to public service unless they could make a career out of it! And I didn't notice a lot of us giving up our lives in the last 10 years!"

How did you and the "religious right" come up with the notion.... that you and they are the only AMERICANS?

was his choice, he quit, just like it's the businesses choice for their dress code

I bet he had a dress code in the military too

you represent the business while at work they can choose what you wear

some get upset about a flag touching the ground, some may also get upset about using it as a mouth covering

or it could of been that it was not a real mask, it was a gaiter

personally I think the business should supply the masks for them to wear

    LOL

YOU CLAIMED THEY HAD A VALID REASON!

YOU were asked to defend that statement (you of course couldn't).

Now you're saying validity has nothing to do with it.

You're right about one thing though....further conversation with you is a waste. When you blatantly contradict yourself, best to just quit.

    Great. They changed the policy:

Food Lion deeply respects the American flag. We listened to our associates and customers about our uniform policy. We require that associates wear masks without writing, insignia or symbols. We will allow associates to wear masks with the American flag that meet this standard.

I wonder if he will go back to work there?

I by no way said they were.

Perhaps that is only true.... for the ones who are disguised as Americans...like the christian, white supremacist fascists.

My comments only were to point out that the left is very quick to place everybody in a box. Your comment would be as bad as some on the right that the rioters and looters are disguised as Americans ... like Christian, black supremacist anarchists'. What divides us is the labels we all seem to place on each other.

I'm not familiar with Peter Bradford.

That is so right but it is also the right of those who don't agree with such a petty policy to boycott the company. Just like Starbucks. If companies want to step into the political arena let them do so. Conservatives can boycott just like liberals. Our choice. I spend $150 to 300 a week at the grocery store and a couple hundred a year on coffee. Not much with one person but get enough people and it adds up.

I would agree if it's a political message, but anybody who thinks an American flag is somehow a political message is a clown.

But you're the one who suggested the "alike" comparison below.....

am not sure what your point is anymore.
My observation is that 99.9% of so called "christian" folks behave no differently than non-christian folks

Just pointing our your fallacy. Back at the ranch, I see many creative masks in the workplace and strongly disagree with disallowing American Flag masks. Staying in business is hard enough without drawing negative attention.

    Isn't that what racists do?
R U suggesting not being allowed a flag over your mouth is bad for business?

Someone was offended according to the article. Perhaps that customer views the flag the same way you view Christians. It is certainly the business owners right to protect the feelings if this one peevish customer. Its up to the consumer to decide where they spend.

So, your labeling me a Trump supporter? So your saying that puts me in with the Christian white supremacist and fascists? Just want to get that right.

    Christians support Biden too.

Trump has denounced white supremacy and racism dozens of times.

Fascism is almost exclusively displayed by leftists.

    You're labeling is wrong.

But by all means, keep pushing the propaganda. Can't let a pesky thing like the truth get in the way.

It is not a good idea to throw around words like fascism when don't know what they mean. Let me help you out.Fascism (/ ˈ f æ ʃ ɪ z əm /) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, as well as strong regimentation of society and of the economy which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries.

Wrong. Don't use the edited wikipedia version. Fascism has nothing to do with left and right.

"a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition"

The left exhibits FAR more fascist traits than the right does.

I don't think people will stop shopping there at all. Perhaps the article published to stir the pot. Isn't that exactly what's happening here?
