What people seem to be overlooking (perhaps deliberately) is that Jones used the lies he told about these unfortunate people as part of his business model - he made money off this. I suspect that the jury took this into account when awarding damages.

Why is it never a surprise which posters will defend a guy like Jones? Line up the names of who responds to a thread like this and you can pick them out without even seeing the posts.

Randy weaver's wife was shot based on illegal orders-she was holding a child-he didn't get 45 million in punitive damages. BTW it appears that the court violated the state law on punitive damage limits.

why misrepresent what is going on-no one, I repeat NO ONE is defending Jones. Rather we are attacking the woke cheerleading of a runaway jury verdict

Publicly? and without any credible evidence? Hell, yes. You can be prosecuted and seriously jailed just for damaging public property.
How much more are you damaging when you distort the public perception of this horrible atrocity? You're aiding and abetting terrorism, no less. Of course that's criminal and should be prosecuted as such.

You're saying Jones should not be penalized as much as he is and you are minimizing his offense. Of course you are defending him

Texas state law prohibits informing the jury of a limit.

That's because the Weaver family went to trial and settled.

That is an impressive logical pretzel there. Comes with its own salt.

If your issue here is 'woke cheerleading' then you live in a very dim moral universe indeed. I would be more concerned that the most important figure in the Republican party, one who became President, was publically supporting Jones AFTER he had done all these terrible things. Of course, that would involve a moral compass to take precedence over a political one, so.....yeah.

Like I said, no surprises in who is defending Jones here. Not a one.

Actually, I base a person's net worth on their value to society. He's been bankrupt for a long time.

As to his claims of freedom of speech. I would point out that the parents of those children who died also have free speech and just as he cannot be arrested for being a lying, used *******, they have the right to use their free speech to recover damages he inflicted. Do try and remember, it was not the government who went after his generous butt but private individuals.

Same with their subject lines where it doesn't have to match the linked source. I know without even clicking. /smdh

Question - What is the point of having laws if they think some people should be above them?

If that’s the case, then the entire DNC cabinet which is loaded to the brim with multi-millionaires are worth jack squat.

Not at all, one can have financial wealth and wealth of character. Granted, it's hard to do but it is possible.

Learn to draw analogies. Once again, Alex "Crybaby" Jones lied so that he could create "enemies" for his idiot supporters to hate. This put money in his fat ******* pockets. He subjected grieving parents to hate from the kooks who follow him. He deserves what he's getting.

    "It appears"? *LOL* Sure, buddy.

Of course they do. Yet they cry and moan about other people they imagine are "breaking the law".

    Indeed!

To me the most dangerous thing of all are the Democrats who don't know this is already a war. The country is under constant attack. They need to stop acting like this is just politics as usual. We can't appeal to the conscience or better nature or the good side of people who support trump and the other traitors like Jones. They know exactly who and what they are supporting.

    Look at my signature...

You weren't on the jury. You have no idea. Have you lost a child by murder, only to have an obese ******* cash in on your child's murder by claiming it didn't happen and you're a "crisis actor"? It doesn't stop there---his remarkably stupid followers then threaten you and mock you while you're trying to grieve.

No. His conduct deserves this kind of punishment. Jesus.

Well, we don't need to concern ourselves with that little tidbit because we now know that definitions, severity and penalties are not based on anything but some good ol' fashioned <you know> thus making any other "issues with their feelz" moot (and mute).

It looks to me that it's a painfully weak attempt to be an apologist for the Orange Stain and his allies.

It would actually be hilarious if we weren't talking about the possibility of a psychopathic traitor being re-elected. /smdh

P.S. Tread lightly. Their <feelz> and all.
