Anti-Soviet propaganda poster printed for the US Army bases in Germany at the height of the cold war in 1973.
Picture of a sub-lieutenant of the Soviet Army with a caption : The Soviet Soldier respects his superior ranks "I Obey" A private salutes every soldier from a corporal to a general. When given an order by any superior , the Soviet soldier salutes and says "I obey".
An order is sacred, both for those who give them and for those whose duty it is to carry them out. What will you expect if the Soviet soldier is ordered to fight you?

Picture of a soldier receiving flower from a lady with a caption: The Soviet Soldier is human. However... he is well-trained fighting man, subject to a strict code of conduct, who would never commit a flagrant violation of the regulations because of implications of a serious offense for his future civilian life. How much of his humanism would you depend on?

Picture of a marine with a daily schedule in the background with a caption: The Soviet soldier spends 14 to 16 hours a day on the job. The training schedule runs six days a week. It is intense, military and politically, and it produces a soldier who can be a formidable opponent.

Picture of the silhouette of the worker and peasant statue with a caption: Women: effective members of the Soviet armed forces. In all institutions of the USSR, women are expected to participate on an active basis alongside Soviet men. The armed forces of the Soviet Union are no exception. Though restricted to the role of noncombatants, women are even subject to the draft if they have medical or specialized skills needed by the military .

Picture of a teenage boy standing in front of the red hammer and sickle with a caption: Too young to be a soldier? Definitely not! According to the Soviet conscription law, pre-military training is now required in all schools from the ninth grade upward. The instruction accurately simulates that of the real army. As a result, the newly drafted recruit is already well on his way to being a fully trained soldier.

Picture of two soldiers with skis in a shooting position in the snow with a caption: The Soviet soldier is a field soldier. He trains in the field, learns to live and survive in the field, functions under adverse all-weather conditions. Life in the Soviet Union is one of austerity and hardship with few of our comforts. The hardships of military service is only a continuance of what the Soviets are already accustomed to. What kind of fighting man would you expect to meet in the cold of winter?

One can think American militarians do not respect their commanders and democratically discuss to to carry out orders of commanders or don't. As to Military salutes, it is present at all armies of the world and has very ancient history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salute
BTW Soviet and Russian soldier never speaks in reply to the order " I obey ". The answer sounds so "есть"-"yest". It can be translated as "yes". Conclusion: Stupid propaganda for stupid idiots.

In Soviet times, when I was in school, we had one poster
with drawings that clearly show what to do during
    nuclear explosion.
But the propaganda of the Ministry of Civil Defence of the USA more fun ...
    in one word Hollywood

It depends on the type of troops in which a soldier serves. In any case 14-16 hours are stupid bosh. Just a sleeping borrows 8 hours. This is the medical norm. Plus time for eating and leisure time. When I served as a private soldier much time took studies, about 5-8 hours a day. At military service at object: 12 hours alert, 12 hours rest.

And for dessert - the same PROHIBITED, notorious SET "Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab", containing heavy isotopes of uranium in the form of children's toys.
Sold for only one year, from 1951 to 1952, when forbidden to turnover. Cost $ 50, now sold almost 500
