Its so blatantly obvious. How can they sit there and claim they are factual or reporting news or being impartial or fair or objective then spin something that is a positive into a negative? Because they hate the country. What other possible explanation is there? FOX at least complimented Obama when he did the right thing. Even when someone disagreed, they didn't claim the world was going to end the next day. And the criticism came mostly from pundits, NOT the actual nightly news reports.

This has been true since Vietnam, and , to a lesser degree, since WW2.

Interesting. Good news for sure. Be curious to see how this plays out month by month as a surplus in one month can become a deficit the next.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter until the end of the FY.

I am curious though about the "higher wages" component as I was just reading that economists are baffled by the fact that wages aren't really going up even though they should be considering the unemployment rate.

Ah here. Its Vox so there is that. But the trend is there.

monthly surpluses are meaningless. Revenue varies by month. What matters is the annual revenue collected, vs expenditure. We will be running almost an $800B deficit.

I'm sure the recently passed, bloated budget will take care of it, sadly.

Sorry, but as I correctly pointed out.........monthly surpluses are meaningless. Revenue varies by month. What matters is the annual revenue collected, vs expenditure. We will be running almost an $800B deficit.

Of course they are. Once we start SERIOUSLY cutting the fat out of the budget, we'll be far better off....

And monthly surpluses are only "meaningless" when democrats are not in office, we notice....

Yes indeed. If the US is at full employment, shouldn't the need for government services decrease? Yes it should.

Politicians in Detroit were fond of saying that it was meaningless when small businesses closed up. Now Detroit is 100 square miles of abandoned wasteland. I gues the closings were meaningfull after all. Just like April's budget surplus was meaningful.

You seem confused as well. Nobody is talking about Detroit politicians. I correctly pointed out that a ingle monthly surplus is meaningless, as revenues vary by month. We are runn8ng an $800b deficit, because republicans are incompetent.

Total Horse ****. There is no year, while Trump has been President when the Federal debt increased by a $Trillion.

What year, while Obama was President, did the Federal Debt only increase by $400B?

Trump has yet to run up the Federal Debt by $800B in a single year, and if he ever does, it would still be better than most of Obama's years including his final year.
