Holy carp this is nonsense ? " 218 Billion Swamped the previous record of 190 Billion" Obviously the person writing this article is an economic idiot. 190 Billion in constant dollars is more than 218 Billion.

Receipts for April are going to be high due to tax season. If we were to collect 515 Billion every month this would be 6 Trillion in revenue for the year. ding ding ding. Revenue for the year is expected to come in at around 3.6 Trillion - roughly 300 Billion/month.

Only an economic idiot thinks that one monthly number reflects the whole year - especially looking at the month in which end of year taxes are paid.

Obviously 515 Billion is not anywhere close to what our average monthly tax revenue is at.

Since no one had claimed it reflects the whole year your point is specious. Now explain who you can have a annual budget surplus without first have monthly surpluses which you said are not relevant.

Have no idea until it comes if. If we hit the 3.3% GDP for the year should be lower.
