it's interesting how things have changed and turned around since before the 1950s..back then Zimmerman would of never been charged..

I went to an all white HS of about 1000 and it had about 10 blacks..nobody messed with them because they knew they'd get their ass kicked if they did..
I saw 3 black girls beat the crap out of a white guy in the lunch area and not a single teacher dared to break it up..I was a punky freshman and just looked on in disbelief..

if Zimmerman is guilty I hope he gets life..

how would you react if some strange man came up to you with a gun... I have no idea how this young kid reacted, but I do know how the adult reacted, he ignored request from 911, he went in with a loaded gun... boy is now dead, I would like to see this play out in a court of law

But, it seems that it has to be your justice or no justice has been done.

Then he was found innocent. Let's take it as that.

Well, he is an American citizen and he deserves to have his day in court.

Except that eventhe co-author of the law stated that it didn't apply in zimmerman's case.

Anyway, it seems to me that either Zimmerman will get arrested and tried by jury, or, if he gets away with this unnecessary shooting of a young, innocent kid, i amprztty sure that there will be REAL thugs who will be more tthan happy to bring their own justice down on Zimmerman. . .

either way, I don't think Mr. Zimmerman will ever resume his "wannabe" police career. . .his life will be for ever changed. . . .and not for the better.

just a thought here. How do we know t hat the police did not act in a legal fashion and someone was just very unhappy cause they want the findings to be totally different. I understand they've lost a part of their family.

I just don't get why all the secrecy and the misinformation on the behalf of young Trayvon. It's bad enough he was unarmed and shot.

In the end it is the truth that matters. And that's what i want to see rather than all this hype and blown up outrage.

He attacked the man. He pinned the man to the ground and beat on him while the man screamed for help. The man then shot his attacker in self defense.

    Seems justifiable to me.

A possible version based on the screams and noise heard..

Zimmermann chased down and attacked the kid. He pinned the kid to the ground and beat on him while the kid screamed for help, then, trying to escape, the kid fought back. Zimmermann then shot his black prey in his own warped version of self defense.

A child walking down the street with no weapon attacked a grown man who was in a car.

I don't think you know what "attacked" means.

I don't think you recognize what a child is. Trayvon was no child. If that's what you thought then this news item is more manipulated than i thought possible.

    That's certainly possible.

But no more possible than the alternative possibility that Trayvon got angry at being suspected and followed, and decided to cross the line and physically affront Zimmerman.

Once he did that, he was in mortal danger that he himself caused.

    If that is what happened.

And that is why no one should be drawing any conclusions here, nor attempting to use this to incite racial hatred, polarization or to score political points.

    Right?

Zimmerman was told not to chase. He was shot because the white guy was afraid of a black guy? Gun law is settled law, so if your going to let idiots like this carry the least you can do is prosecute the bastard when he murders someone. If a cop had shot that kid, his gun would have gone into evidence, he would have been tested for alcohol and drugs and placed on paid suspension until the investigation proved the shooting justified. This kid was let go with his gun, not tested for drugs and detained for questioning like he should have been. If the situation were reversed, Treyvon had been the shooter and neighborhood watch guy? He would be in jail right now charged with murder-2. Everybody in this forum knows it. It was a racial act by the shooter, the officers, and the Chief of police.

Huh? The first sentence you offer is reasonable. Zimmerman - if he did receive that instruction, and he what he did was 'chasing' - is definitely in the wrong for doing so.

The second sentence you offer, however, is just stupid. You have no basis for that stupid claim, and - in fact - if Zimmerman was fearful, it would have invalidated the accusation in the first sentence. Who chases someone they're afraid of?

I'd throw you a lifeline, but it's rather enjoyable watching you go off the unsupported deep end. You don't have any focking idea at all whether Martin wigged out and turned on this guy and assaulted him, do you?

If that is what happened, Martin getting shot provides the possibility that the shooting was in self-defense.

You need to grow up and offer measured and reasonable responses, instead so quickly being desperate to begin to represent your own biases.

Non sequitur. These acts are undertaken to protect the police department from liability, and is latitude granted an employer.

Hold on. He wasn't detained and questioned? I'm going to need a cite for that. Give me proof of that; not someone else's speculation.

This is just confirmation bias bleating out of your mouth. You can't help it; you're a leftist. You don't have any idea what really happened.

Whether or not he did murder someone is the subject of debate. No one is saying "don't prosecute". You are attacking a strawman with a straw stick.

Why would Zimmerman leave his car and follow the kid if he had no intention of confronting him?

As the nation has jumped to a decision on guilt or innocence already, a legal lynching seems inevitable. Due Justice is not something determined by color and mob.

Watch the news and read this forum...folk already have decided. I do not believe he can get a fair investigation much less a fair trial...the only question is how badly he will be abused.

If he did as the left assumes, then the proper charge is manslaughter and the sentence 5-10 for a person with his record...

How does this question validly fit the statement I made? I never once said anything about Zimmerman's intentions; even if Zimmerman wanted to find out from Martin what he was doing/why he was doing it, Martin could have been the one to get angry and attack Zimmerman for it.

Which could have resulted in Zimmerman feeling the need to defend himself.

With what part of this are you having an issue?

No - simply arrest him and bring him to trial as the police do in all civilized countries.

The part where the instigator of the confrontation, who had a weapon, is being portrayed as the defender, when his motivation was clearly to start a fight. There is no other motivation for taking your gun, leaving your car, and confronting someone who is not engaging in any illegal or suspicious behavior.

I did not see the same level of offense when this happened

    http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-03-04/news/31122324_1_white-boy-fire-tv-station

No nationwide marches, no threats of death for the perps, no hysteric posts and demands for 'Justice'....nada, nothing, silence, crickets from the left.

I wonder what the difference was?

I have read the photo of the victim was several years old. For some reason the media will not carry a current photo.

As is your wont, you contrive motives and circumstances to fit your preconceptions. You have no idea what Zimmerman's intentions were; it could just as easily be claimed that Zimmerman is simply an overzealous neighborhood watch patrolman.

Like many cops are overzealous (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s.

This is all moot. I'm quite sure that Zimmerman pushed the boundaries of what a polite and insightful neighborhood watchman should do.

What is in question here, however, is if Martin displayed attitude enough to actually physically assault Zimmerman, thus causing Zimmerman to shoot him.

Are you incapable of the discernment necessary to understand that regardless what Zimmerman did - short of instigating a physical confrontation - if Martin instigated the physical confrontation, his shooting was in large measure his own fault?

You just cannot attack someone because you're offended or insulted that you were stopped for walking in a neighborhood that is on edge due to crime. You can question; you can yell; you can insult; you can call the cops.

But you cannot attack. Not unless you are willing to pay the ultimate price - and he did.

    If that is what happened.
