I of course am not prepared for a world war as it would certainly be my end inevitably. I do however worry it may come about because of the United States choice for President being totally unprepared and incompetent in the office. His mentality and personality are volatile enough for terrible mistakes to occur.

Cold war era propaganda by a pro war apologist:

    https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2017/10/28/one-day-tomorrow-wont-arrive/

Back in the day, the military capitalists who profited from war and treason told us about the mythical "missile gap". Now they are back at it and pushing Congress to give them more welfare while you pay for their profit in terms of dollars and the blood of your children.

So you think NK wouldn't be developing nuclear weapons if anyone else was in office. Or China and Russia would be nice in the world stage. Maybe you think tree would be no trouble with the middle east if Trump wasn't there? We have been headed this direction for years in part because we have been seen as weak under Obama and it doesn't matter who is in office it would still be hapening.

You may thank traitor Bush for NK having nukes because he allowed Dr Khan to spread that type of tech there.

Don't know much about that but it is my understanding that the last 3 Kim dynasties were heading that direction.

    By typing this?

There is no "Blame" anywhere in that, just concern and observation.

That would work if you are able to leave far enough in advance, going to a remote area far from other people, and have enough skill and equipment to live out there for weeks.

Otherwise, the smart move might be to buy some large $10 bags of rice and beans and such, and have a way to cook them with Steno stoves---and shelter in place.

Shelter in place is alright if it is expected to be short lived disaster like tornados or earthquakes but for the downfall of our economy it would not be long before someone comes along to take your stuff. If one thinks they are safe in their homes they are mistaken, there will be no police to protect anyone and it will become survival of the fittest, or smartest.

On another forum I had a discussion "best skills to know for the Apocalypse". Most guys are all about guns, but in a collapse-of-civilization, some skills will be more valuable than others. Example, being a knowledgeable gardener and knowing how to raise domesticated animals, especially those lower on the food chain, would be essential to a community of survivors. Obviously one important skill is medical. Many community colleges offer courses to become an EMT. One doesn't even have to pass, become certified or work as one to absorb the knowledge. It would an essential skill where the community would protect those who have it and send everyone else out as cannon fodder. ;)

While I agree on the massive negative aspects of a "bunker mentality", being prepared with supplies and skills is only part of it. Being part of the community is the greatest strength.

The american empire will be at continuous war until it cannibalizes itself. What does WW3 mean anymore, anything at all?

We are threatened by no one but ourselves and our ruling political/economic class. We entered into bogus wars of empire under Bush. We all know that now, yet we remain in those wars. Obama turned 2 endless wars of profit and empire into 7 endless wars of profit and empire.

How can Don take us into WW3 at all? By going to war with North Korea who we sold nuclear reactors to a mere 2 years before placing them on an "axis of evil" list? In an utterly bipartisan plan initiated under Clinton and followed through on under Bush? With the reactors sold by a company Rumsfeld had once sat on the board if directors of? With US taxpayer funding assistance provided by Bush to help NK in wrapping up the deal?

Man the amerian public is stupid as hell. Swallow and follow.

Depends on how much that community descends into do eat dog mentality when they find out someone has more than they do.

If you didn't vote, then do you really think you should complain about the system you didn't even bother yourself to try and change?

Human history is filled with examples. A group too stupid to realize they are better off working together than cannibalizing each other isn't fit to survive.

Nice rant. Lemme guess, you're either an anti-American foreigner or an American teenager/20something. Am I close?

Scroll up, I have. You're the one who jumped in with an off-topic anti-American hate rant.

Example; WTF do defense budgets have to do with preparation for WWIII?

Furthermore, your chart is biased since it doesn't compare economies. A rich man should spend more on household security than someone living in low-income housing.
