if that’s your standard for proving intent, no one would ever be convicted of a crime unless they admitted not only their actions but also their intent. That isn’t the way it works. Intent can be inferred from actions.

If there are transcripts of trump suggesting that that was his intent that would work
or if there were a couple witnesses with first hand knowledge of him saying that was his intent that would work. SO far as I know that has not been shown.

One witness said that his actions would be interpreted that way. not that that was his intent.

This is pure propaganda. This post leaves out the fact that trump held up missile defense for Ukraine for the first time in 2019 to get dirt on an American political rival. Trump asked Zelensy for dirt on Biden as a "favor" when Zelensky asked for badly needed missile defense that was held up for the first time in 2019 . Trump is a pathological liar who keeos trying to stop testimony against him and that testimony before the House in no way represented a threat to executive privilege or the national defense.

We'll never know the extent to which Trump believed in good faith that Biden's son was dirty. Even if he was clean, Trump has the right to be skeptical.

Second, "abuse of power" is not a crime under the U.S. Code that I know of. It's a kind of arguable malfeasance that exposes one to replacement in the next election, not prison.

Schiff knows all this -- it's why he's subpoenaing witnesses. He doesn't know or care what they have to say. So long as Trump tries to prevent them from testifying, he can claim obstruction of justice, which is a crime (if proved). Actually, it is better for Schiff's case that they do NOT testify.
