    Meanwhile, Trump has let the Jones Act waiver expire so he's getting his revenge on Puerto Rico.

    Coal is still an abundent natural resource for America

    China and india for instance have not stopped building new coal fired power plants and will be using coal for a long time to come

    The reason for the Jones act is bigger than one little island

    The act helps ensure than America has transport ships and trained sailors to operate them under our flag

    Which is vital in a national emergency

    If the market decides that coal mining jobs are not needed they will go away natually

    But obama and the EPA wanted to kill coal for other than economic reasons and that is not good

    No one says that there must be as many jobs today in coal as we had in 1940

    The energy market is different

    Now fewer workers can be more productive and deliver as much coal to the market

    But the liberal dream that coal is dead has failed

    A US territory has been devastated. Waiving the Jones act for six months would not have any bad effects on shipping and is absolutely necessary to recovery for that island.

    Trump is just pissed that PR didn't kiss his ass more
