hmmm....I'm pretty sure the narrative on the right is that increasing the minimum wage to this level is a "detriment" to the economy. Interesting.

You and your liberal ilk have known about this position for a long, long time.

And you still don't understand it.

    And you never will.

Being forced by government, despite affordability is different from volunteering to share gains.

Say the guy that trolls. One of yours is cheering the wage increase but you say nothing. You and your ilk are hypocrites.

    was just reading that too

"The truth about AT&T’s $1,000 bonus for workers"

    https://thinkprogress.org/att-praises-tax-bill-c4bab31e1067/

not sure what it all means, doubt we will really know for a couple years until we see the real effects on the economy

I do expect a short term boost from the temporary middle class tax cuts, sure would be nice if the corps trickled down though and brought our jobs back to America too

If they are publicly traded companies then you can read their financial filings, if they are privately held then take a hike it's none of your business. That being said the history speaks for its self.

Nobody is crying about the 15 dollar "minimum" except for those on the right who opposed salary increase because it would cause a "rise" in product costs. I find it funny now y'all are cheering it on.....

LOL what?? the end result is still the same isn't it? What ever happened to that "gloom and doom this will cause the economy to tank" mantra? Or is it only "bad" if a Dem suggest such a thing?

I guess it depends upon what goals they decided to achieve.

If a company can't afford to pay a worker more, but is forced to do so, what will happen?

the gov should wave the tax on gifts\bonuses of under 10k a year (up to 10k for everyone)

sure a bill with just that, could pass with a easy vote by both sides

If the corporation does it willingly, then it can;t be bad or they wouldnt do it. Making it mandatory is another thing entirely.

if Trump closed all overseas tax shelters the way Obama wanted to do, it would have brought back far more capital and created many more jobs

Thanks, and I absolutely agree with you. More money in the lower and medium levels of economic classes is the best way to grow an economy.

I just don't believe this bill is a positive step towards that. The majority of savings goes to the upper economic levels, and then expires.

Lowering the Corp tax rate is a good idea, but only with deduction reform, which didn't happen.

As for Federal Vs Local governance? Your right. A closer govt that's more accountable to it's people is ultimately a better form of governance. That said, there are benefits to a unified Federal body that gives weight to those smaller groupings.

And the best way to do that is by returning manufacturing jobs to America

Which is another goal of the trump adminstration

Liberals are mad. They're more likely to be unemployed, so the tax cuts don't benefit them. Now working people are getting more money from their employers.

Terrible time to be an unemployed liberal. Sure you get to watch tv all day, but what else?

I don't see how you cannot believe this bill is a positive step toward that. How on Earth is it a lateral or backwards step? Real question. As for the corporate tax rate... how do you see lowering the rate, but reforming deduction as anything but a wash or worse for business investing here instead of abroad? Manufacturing was not killed by deductions... ok unions are another topic. I will assume that you are outraged by companies who pay no taxes as purported by the media... what is their incentive to support this? You think they will get negative taxation? The IRS will cut them a billion dollar check? Why IS the economy acting so strongly to trump? Why are massive companies rewarding their employees with bonuses to reward these decisions?

the bill gives certainty to the rich, but not everyone else. the peasants must have faith that the rich will be merciful, and shower over them glorious money for their pursuit of happiness. aka 'trickle down economics'.

their only incentive is the socialist bernie sanders, but the rich may not fear him.
